Zelda fans can be happy!

Nintendo?s latest installment in the Zelda series is, according to those who have played it, "pure gold" and shows that this was not a cheap attempt to sell more games.  In fact, the two new Zelda games for the Gameboy Color are a sample of pure Zelda goodness.  The two games, developed by CAPCOM and produced by NINTENDO have been released at the same time in Japan on February 27.  Click HERE to see new screenshots!

More info as it arrives...

February 14, 2001

Well, this time looks real. We finally have an official confirmation of the American names for the two new GAMEBOY COLOR Zelda games. As we all know the games will be known as The Legend of Zelda: Chapter of the Earth, and The Legend of Zelda: Chapter of Time and Space. In America however, the games will be forever remembered as:

Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
("Chapter of Time and Space" in Japan)
Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
("Chapter of Earth" in Japan)

February 1, 2001

Finally, the two new Zelda games for the GAMEBOY COLOR will be released in three weeks; in Japan at least.

It also seems that the games will have a definitive name. If you remember from old news, we have called the games in many different ways. Hopefully Nintendo will stick with these new names:

Japanese Release

In Japan the games will be known as: The Legend of Zelda: Mystical Seed (The Chapter of the Earth) and The Legend of Zelda: Mystical Seed (The Chapter of Time and Space). Both will be released in Japan on February 27th at around 30 dollars.

Despite of being similar in visuals and play mechanics, both games will have differences in storyline, items, weapons, quests and characters.

The series will feature the kind of gameplay we all love and know. You play as Link, running around a large overworld, going into towns and dungeons to solve puzzles and gaining access to new areas. Getting items and talking to people. Fighting enemies and facing bosses. This is the kind of game that has won over millions, so why complain? These are two new Zelda games to take with you on the bus, so let?s face it; you?re gonna get them cause you?re a Zelda freak. After all, you are here, right? Yes, It?s a Zelda site, stay or leave.

Now that you have decided to stay...

Let?s have a look at these games storylines...

The Chapter of the Earth ("Oracle of Seasons" in America)

Princess Zelda returns to the series. Unfortunatelly, (for her, of course) Ganon is back into business and captures her in a moment of distraction (ah, women...). Since Zelda was the one to regulate the seasons, (Mmm, what a concept) things have started to get a bit chaotic. In order to return order to the world and bring Zelda back to her comfy throne, LINK must recover "The Rod of Four Seasons" that have fallen into another dimension. Don?t worry, that?s just the beginning. Once the Rod is recovered, our beloved hero LINK, will have the abiliy to control the seasons. Link must change the seasons in order to solve the mysteries that he will encounter during his journey.
Playing with the seasons will have quite a variety of effects on people and places. Freezing water by turning season to winter to gain access to an island for example. Got the idea? Good, let?s move on.

The Chapter of Time and Space ("Oracle of Ages" in America)

LINK will have to utilize his Harp and certain tunes to travel in time. Does it sound familiar? By using this ability LINK will be able to solve the mysteries he will face. Items that couldn?t be accessed in the past will be accessed in the future. Closed areas in the future will be opened in the past and that sort of things. You know.

Features and stuff

New characters will arrive to the series. A boxing kangaroo, named Ricky. He can punch stuff, and jump really high.

Other helpful animals included are: a flying bear, a Fish that lets Link swim and some others we don?t know yet.

Besides there?s a witch named Maple who enjoys flying on her broom. Sorry, no more details on this yet.

Both games will have the never-seen-before feature of connectivity. What for? you may ask... Well, to play both games as one. Yes, sir, that?s right. The two games will play together. If you want to get the most out of them you will have to get them both. Things that you achieve in, let?s say, Chapter of the Eath will have effects on the Chapter of Time and Space. Isn?t that cool? This feature will work thanks to a password system that will keep the info of your achievements. We don?t know for sure how this will work, but we know one thing; It will be a welcome addition to the series.

Nintendo of America hasn?t announced a release date for these games in America or the rest of the world yet. We believe that the american versions will be released a bit before the GAMEBOY ADVANCE hits the stores. Let?s see what happens. More information may be available at the next Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). If not, well... we?ll have to "invent" it... :) Just kidding.

By the way. Yes, yes, I know the buttons on the right  have wrong names, yes, yes. Be patient and don?t send E-mails about that!
Understood? good.

...

What is this? an E-mail of complain? Grrrr...
