Zelda
add-on announced
03/24/99
There
are some rumors about a release date for the Zelda add-on. People
told me that some sites (two to be more precise) are claiming
that Miyamoto announced a release date for the next Zelda. I
want to clarify this by saying that Miyamoto never announced such a thing. Miyamoto commented on the fact that he has not
even begun work on another Zelda title later at the Game Developers
Conference in San Jose, therefore don't believe everything you
read, there is no add-on announced. One thing is sure, you'll
not see a new Zelda game in long, long time.
Zelda
situation in Japan

In the
land of the rising sun, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of
Time is forgotten. It shows that new survives, and old
dies. This covers March 1st to March 7th.

This
week charts
03/09/99
Multiplayer
games rule the rental charts this week. Mario Party comes
in first, while South Park, the crazy game based on the hillarious
show comes in 2nd place. Nintendo's very own masterpiece,
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time comes in at 4th, and
its ironic that 4 is the luck number. Nintendo holds 4
out of the 5 spots this week!
1. Mario Party (Nintendo) N64
2. South Park (Acclaim) N64
3. WCW/NWO Thunder (THQ) PSX
4. Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Nintendo) N64
5. WCW/NWO Revenge (THQ) N64
Zelda
awarded again!
03/03/99
The Agency
for Cultural Affairs in Japan gave Zelda: The Ocarina of Time
another award to its growing list. It was recognized for its
special achievement in CG and animation, and it also was given
the Agencies grand prize in the Digital Intercative category....that
is amazing! It is a big category!
On another note in a recent eddition of Nintendo Power (March
'99) Zelda was nomintated for almost every one of the magazines
awards....strange huh? Okay, not really, in a little note the
editor put in the magazine, it said something like don't vote
only for Zelda and give other games a chance....Nintendo knows
they have a winner on their hands. I think they are getting big
heads!

Zelda

over 6 MILLION copies!!!! Nintendo is probably sitting up there
really happy about now! I guess there statement about selling
8 million by March will come true.
Zelda Vs.

Zelda
in the UK rental charts
01/21/99
This week, Zelda: The Ocarina of
Time slipped down to the 9th posistion in the UK pal charts.
Why? If you are completely in the dark, Zelda shipped to UK countries
in very low quantities. Therefore, people had to turn to other
Nintendo 64 games to buy. Hopefully, our favorite game will rebound
back into first, but we'll just have to wait and see. Luckily,
however, the chart is dominated by Nintendo 64 games!
1. Turok 2: Seeds of Evil
2. 1080 Snowboarding
3. V-Rally Edition '99
4. Banjo-Kazooie
5. F-1 World Grand Prix
6. Mario Kart 64
7. GoldenEye 007
8. Mission: Impossible
9. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
10. Diddy Kong Racing
Top 10 charts
01/16/99
In
the volatile market in Japan, Zelda: The Ocarina of Time loses
its Top Ten location. However, this chart is somewhat misleading.
Titles can bounce back at any moment, or vice versa. Zelda: The
Ocarina of Time has had a posistive effect on console sales,
as many Japanese people have bought the system to just play Zelda
(Pikachu Genki Dechu also has helped sales.) Here's the top ten
list:
1. Chocobo's Mysterious
Dungeon 2 (Square) PSX
2. Tales of Phantasia (Namco) PSX
3. Street Fighter Zero 3 (Capcom) PSX
4. Game King Dual Monsters (Konami) Game Boy
5. Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped World Tour (SCEI) PSX
6. Beatmania Append 3rd mix (Konami) PSX
7. Sonic Adventure (Sega) DC
8. Mario Party (Nintendo) N64
9. Pokemon Card (Nintendo) Game Boy
10. Dragon Quest Monsters Terry's Wonderland (Enix) GBC
11. Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Nintendo) N64
14. Pocket Monsters Pikachu (Nintendo) Game Boy
11. Banjo-Kazooie (Nintendo) N64
19. Pikachu Genki Dechu (Nintendo) N64

On US soil, the game is doing better, in fact, much better. This
week's rental charts prove it. Good luck trying to rent Zelda:
The Ocarina of Time. If you want to play it, then buy it!
1. The Legend of Zelda:
Ocarina of Time (N64)
2. WCW/NWO World Tour (N64)
3. South Park (N64)
4. Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (N64)
5. Turok 2: Seeds of Evil (N64)

Zelda's sucess is worldwide. Across the pond, Zelda takes its
rightfully seat as number one in UK's weekly video game sales
