Let me just take out the time to say "Thanks alot guys!" I am a huge fan of your site, and (of course) Zelda. I've been hittng your site since March and let me tell you, you guys go WAY above and beyond the call of duty. I'm not talking about JUST the website world in general either. I truly feel that if a business or organization or even magazine were as good as you guys are, it would be doing great business. Time and time again you guys go way out of your way to make sure that your readers get the full and factual coverage.
You make us laugh with your "It's really true" pages, you make us come together as a community in your fourms and bulletins, and you make us aware of whats new and what COULD be new in your news and "Official Rumors". Now I come online, check my email, and I get this letter from you guys saying you want me to have a Happy Halloween?! Holy cow...I'm more then happy to be a person on your site. I'm damn proud to be a member of a community you established. Thankyou for your concern and thankyou for you hard work. Not only will I continue to come to your site...but I will continue to recomend it to my friends. You are by far the best at what you do, and I think you should know (for those long days at the office) that your fans really care.

Gold / gray versions of "The Adventurs of Link"

Hello,
I just had a question about both The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link for the NES. There are both gold versions and gray versions of these games, but what I wanted to know is which came first, gold or gray. The reason I ask this is first because I really just don't know, and secondly, later in 1992, both games were re-released through the classic series, but what I'm not sure of is if they were re-released as a gold or gray versions. If they were re-released as gold cart versions, then how can you tell an old version from a newer version, supposing the original version was ever released as a gold version in the first place. Hope I didn't confuse you, and I hope you can help me out.

The gold and grey versions were released together, although like today the gold was limited editon. Has anyone actually seen a grey Majora's Mask cart?

Getting rich in Majora's Mask

Once you have the Blast Mask it is a real cinch to get very rich.
Go to that place in the left sewer with the Silver Rupee. Use the Blast Mask to get it, then deposit the darn thing in the Bank. Go back to the First Day and do it over again! and again! and again! and again!

You could do this elsewhere, like on Milk Road, killing the Bird getting 200 bucks, depositing it and repeating, but I think that the sewer rupee is better because the whole thing takes about 30 seconds.

Also, can you tell me if there is any way to do the whole 'Wedding Couple Mask' routine if you allready have the Keaton Mask?

Snow wont melt!

After I deafeated Goato, I saved. When I resumed playing,I found that the snow was still there. What's up with that? How can I fix it?

Go back to the dungeon, use the warp at the beginning of
the dungeon to warp to the boss, and re-beat him.

Translating Hylian???

Aight, Once again, I am back for some more questioning.... Ok, It's a short, simple subject with a hard answer. Can any one of you staff members get a translation for Hylian? Or maybe an alphabet? I dunno... If you guys can't help, I'll write NOA or something.....

Ah, you mean those runes that appear in the wood tablets? Well, all the
tablets use the same texture, so what it's on it it's always the same.
So I guess we can't translate it!

Nintendo cartoons

Do you have anything on the show that Nintendo aired called Captain Nand The video Game Masters? It was aired about 6 or 7 years ago and had Zelda on it.
It was a cartoon show that had a main character called "Captain N." He had some kind of cloths on which I forgot over the years, a Light Gun (used in the NES for a weapon) and a NES controller which he could use to pause time and other stuff. But the coolest part was the Zelda show. When the show came on it either played, Mario, Captain N, Or Zelda. The Zelda show, showed all the stuff from Zelda but better. In one episode Link even was killed and
came back as a ghost to help Zelda get something (which I also forgot) to resurrect him. Have you ever heard of this?

Well, I used to watch the cartoons. I thought Zelda and Link where anoying in those series. By the way, I do remember Captain N, those cartoons even featured Kid Icarus! Ahhh...the memories.

More Snowhead Temple problems

From what I understand, you are supposed to get Epona after you beat Snowhead Temple. Well, I've beaten Snowhead temple, but time was running out (I had literally 1 hour) so I restarted the time, thinking that everything would be the same. I came back to Snowhead, and....all the snow is back! Does that mean that the temple is still there, and the boss is still undefeated? I heard you have to do something in Snowhead after you beat the temple, and then you go to Romani Ranch....if that's true, does that mean I'll have to beat the temple ALL OVER AGAIN? Please tell me that this is not the case....

Use your fire arrows on the ice block in goron village so that you can enter the bomb keg store, do the giant goron's task then you can buy kegs from him for 100 rupees, or goto the bomb store in west clock town as goron link to buy them for 50 rupees. Once you have one, goto Milk road and put a keg next to the boulder blocking romani ranch, and it'll blow!

All you have to do is go back to the temple. Right when you enter back in the cave, the warp will activate. Now you just enter the warping thing and, bang, you are to the boss! Now just beat him again, and the snow will melt again!

Two save files in American version? Why?

Hi, Remember me I'm the person who thought Kaifei was a girl.Majora's Mask as well your site are definitly one of the best of their types, but I have two questions about the game that I hope you can answer.
1. How come there are only two save files? Oot and the japenese version had 3.
2. My sword has disappeared. It's not becuase of a blue bubble hitting me, (it's been like this for a week), that theif bird hasn't touched me, and I even made sure, and went to the curiosity shop but it wasn't there. I turned the game off and it was still like that, tried going back in time, but that didn't work. So now I'm stuck with the ocarina assigned to the B button instead of the guilded sword.

1. The Jap. version of Majora's Mask had three save files because it didn't have to save very much information. To save in the Jap. version, you had to play the song of time, loose all of your arrows, money, bombs, etc, then talk to the happy mask shop guy and you would be saved. But when it came to the English version, it allowed you to save from an owl statue. Which made it take up more space on your Cartridge. So that is why there are only two spaces on the English version when there were three on the Jap. version.
2. Somone mentioned this on the HTLOZ MB. I havn't got a clue what happened. Sorry.

Every time the vulture steals my sword, I go back in time straight away, and it's back. It may be because of the blue bubble's curse, but then that would go away after going back to the first day... hmmmm...

Gold Dust power

In the mountain village where you get your sword updated what does he mean by if you get him golddust he can permanetly forge the sharpess sword in the land so what is goldust

If you find a jar of gold dust, bring it to the welder and he will make a sword plated in gold for you, which last forever! I will give you a hint to finding the gold dust: Race

Get a bomb keg (see above) and then go and beat Goat again. After, when the snow has gone, goto the area leading to Goron Village, from Mountain Village, the place with the water. In this area there is a boulder with a little Goron next to it, blow it with your keg and you can enter the Goron Race, win to get the gold dust. Take the gold dust to the Blacksmith and he'll give you a cool new sword!

Another one and goes... well, we lost the count.

Hey I doubt that some of these thigns are in the game, I mean look at the pokemon one, it looks so fake all they did was make up some story about it.
Look at the pokemon one, if the lady in kakoriko town would have really said "Link look out behind you!" it would have been in the little talking button thing.

Putting Zora eggs in the aquarium

How on earth do i put the zora eggs into the aquarium ( silly question ain't it im cornfuzed ) and where is the eel family?

To put them in, you need to align yourself in the center of the aquarium, and go read our walkthrough! No more long awnsers today!

You have to stand right, exactly, in the middle of the big tank. If you are not in the middle, Link won't drop them in. As for the second question, don't ask me. I am searching for it also.

The old lady in the back room of the Inn normally mistakes you for her dead son, Tortus. However, if you talk to her while wearing Kafei's Mask, she will mistake you for Kafei's father, Mayor Dotour, who was once a student of hers.
She gives you advice on what to do when the other kids are mean to you.

I love Hyrule: The Land of Zelda. IT has to be one of the most spectacular sites I've ever seen.
On a side note, I think I'm messed up in the head. I played through all three days in Majora's Mask AT LEAST 1 1/2 times, possibly 2 or 3 times, before I realized that the round thing with a face that was over top of Clock Town was the moon that was supposed to come crashing down.

Our old Zelda & Link comic

Hey HTLOZ,
First of all, I do want to say that I've been coming to your site for a while now, and I think that you guys really do a great job. But, I was wondering, whatever happened to the Zelda & Link Comic? I thought that was pretty cool at the time, but it seems to have vanished.

And also, I've seen some demos from Gamecube and somer videos from PS2, amd personally, I think Gamecube's graphics are at least twice as good as any current PS2 game. Is it worth the extra year to wait for Gamecube? I'd appreciate your opinions!

Oh, well, I played PS2 in the jap version and the DVD player sucked, and the only game I liked was Tekken Tag.

It's definetly worth the wait for Gamecube, it's not that long a wait, plus think of the new Mario! Miyamoto didn't give any secrets away when I asked him about it!

Wait for the gamecube or buy a Dreamcast. I've played lots of PS2 games and to tell you the truth it has nothing new to offer. If you want great next generation games buy a Dreamcast. It's cheaper and better in videogames.

The Zelda comic we used to have vanished due to lack of time to develop it. Sorry, maybe one day something will be done about it.

Elder Goron and song

Hello, I"ve been going to your site for atleast a year and a half, and it kicks major ass. I only use your walkthroughs as a last resort, because I want to play on my own, and not go through the game without having the feeling of beating it myself. I picked up my pre-order of Majora's Mask on the release date, and now I am at the Goran village. When I unfreeze the elder Goran he will not teach me the song, either as regular Link or Goran Link. Could you tell me how I get the first part of the "Goran Lulliby"?
Do I have to go at a specific day and time? If this is the case, please tell me so I can promptly kick myself numerous times. Thank you.

I got it by first talking to the baby goron. Then going back and talking to the old goron as Goron Link. If all else fails, threaten to beat the elder with a deku stick until he tells you.

Zoras Bay Temple

I was wondering how , from start to finish, to beat the zoras bay temple in majoras mask, i looked at you're walkthrough and it is the best mm walkthrough i have ever seen, but it says to talk to the girl. i did, she nodded at me and then it said to get the hookshot and do whatever.
well, how do i talk to her and how do i get the hookshot? please help

You talk to the girl by walking up to her, and pressing (A). Then to get the hookshot, you have to go to Great Bay and go to the Pirates Fortres. The hookshot can be found there.

Perfect Nintendo women

Hi! My name is Josh and I would like to say that Nintendo makes to many male characters. My girlfriend always says she'd like to see a Zelda game with a girl main character, and a prince instead of princess. She also says the women's breast seem to er... how should I say this.. uh large. Why doesn't Nintendo make their women less like models and more like real women, I mean like maybe a little fat, and a couple model types here and there and don't forget the bigger people. Also I want to know why most games have only white people, why not any Hispanic or African. I'm white, but I have a lot of friends that are African and Indian. Well, Samus is a female character if that helps you. And I am unsure about Zelda having large breasts. Well, I didn't really looked at them but the young Zelda had quite a large thing considering she was 10.
And about non-white characters...well, I can't really say. Link is an Elf, but yes, I think Shadowman was the first afroamerican protagonist in a game...well, I didn't really notice that thing. Well, I don't care which race the hero is, I only want the game to be good. And I absolutely love Shadowman.

Majora's Mask Dark Art

Konnichiwassup? Nice site and all that. Top notch. Just wondering, Is Wolfhang working on any Majora's Mask Dark Art? I love his stuff and would look forward to it.

By the way, how exactly do you draw these things? Using Adobe Photoshop, or scanning a drawn picture then touching it up? They look so great I can't tell how you did them.

I dunno, but I guess he first draws the pic, then ink it, scan it and color it in Photoshop by using the selecting tools. Maybe he uses other painting programs for some cool effects.

Hello again, it's me. I have noticied something in Majoras Mask. Am I the only one that sees cows in come areas of the game? I have seen one at the bank, in the bomb shop, and some other buildings.Does this have any signifigance or what? O, and whats the deal with the Mario Mask on the mask salesman?

Well, he is a Mask Collector, Miyamoto made both Mario and Zelda, so maybe he is promoting his games. Don't know. Thats for him to know, and you to find out.

I hope no-one makes fake mario-zelda shots...
