Hello, my name is Arrow and I am a Zelda
fan-actic. I recently came upon your site and have searched through
every piece I could find. I want to give you a huge thank you.
Your site was not only interesting, it full filled 31/2 of the
things I've been looking for.
1) In your fan stories section they had
the last story in a group that I could not find on the other
site that had her stories.
2) Also in you fan stories section I found
an awesome story about Saria andLink (titled Link and Saria).
It was really cool because most people writea bout Zelda falling
in love with Link (from Zelda64), but I believe he loved Saria
and that Zelda and Link (from the last game {in chronologlical
order}or the cartoon) fell in love in different lives.
3) I had been of line for a few months
and had heard rumors about someone who had found the triforce
(Ariana) and didn't believe it, but felt like checking it out.
And I looked everywhere and couldn't find the whole story, but
of course in you website I found it.
For the last one I found half of what I
wanted. You see I am a major Saria fan. I think she is the best
character in Zelda ever (excluding Link of course). I almost
screamed when the game makers didn't make her grow up. It was
really disapointing, now I relise they couldn't do that or else
Link and Saria would have something going, which in all fairness
would detract the point of the game and sicken some six year
old boys (and a few teens that still act six). Still it was disapointing.
So I searched every website I could find for a picture of adult
Saria, nothing (they don't even have one website about her :0).
Well, after much descourgarment I almost gave up, then finally
I found and Artist that could do fantastic Zelda drawings, Silvestris.
So I e-mailed her about it, but to my dismay she said she doesn't
do Zelda drawings anymore and eventhough an adult Saria sounds
interesting she hasn't done a drawing of Zeldain a year. I was
totally depressed until about 6 months later (yesterday) I came
upon your website HTLOZ. Then I went to the Fan art, nothing
:(, but then I saw a link to your fantastic dark art. And there
it was a picture of Saria who looked about 13 or 14. I am really
happy, but still its not what I'm looking for. What I want is
a picture of Saria the same age Link was when he fought Ganondorf
(aproxamatly 17). If your artist could draw this I would be in
your debt forever.
I really love your site and think its really
great, especially the way you update so often.
Yours Truly, Arrow
Thank you so much for your encouraging comments,
we really appreciate them. We are glad you could find the info
you needed.
Now, onto the Saria´s picture you are looking for, we don´t
have an adult Saria art at this moment, but everything can happen
in a future. Our artist, Wolfhang Van Kraus, may consider drawing
one. Let´s see what we can do about that. We agree it´s
unfortunate that Silvestris had stopped drawing Zelda art, but
there are still many more great artists out there that are yet
to be discovered. Anyway, we still have our own Zelda artist
to keep the anime Zelda art alive, and who knows what other amazing
pieces of work he is preparing right now. Be sure to check our
Zelda: Dark art section often. Thanks for your letter!
Problems with Zelda 1
I know you probably hate receiving e-mails
that entail "How do I do this?" relating to any particular
game, but I've tried looking on about3 walkthroughs including
yours and I simply cannot find the answer to my question. My
question is regarding the original Legend of Zelda for theNES.
I can't seem to find the shop that sells enemy bait. I know it's
there because I stumbled upon it early in the game, but now I
need to find it before going on to the seventh dungeon and I
can't seem to find it. I've tried systematically walking around,
but to no avail. I'm sure there is obviously some path I'm missing,
but if you would be so kind as to tell me where it is, you would
save me a lot of time and frustration. Thank you very much for
whatever assistance you are able to provide. As long as I am sending
you an e-mail, I also would like to inform you that you have
the best Zelda related site I have ever seen (I've been to more
than 20 to date). Not only is the info/content superb, but the
layout is very well engineered and pleasing. I love your use
of Flash. In fact I have yet to come across a site that utilizes
Flash more effectively than your site. Keep up the good work. Dan Hoelzl
I have seen this question asked many times before,
and I can help you with this one. The bait can be obtained from
the same shop where you got the Blue Ring for 60 rupees. In other
words, from level Seven its down once, right twice, and up twice.
Hope this help you! Thanks for the comments Dan!
Information about a site
Dear HTLOZ Staff,
I would like to ask you for some information about the characters
in the picture that was created by an inspiration from a fan
fic in the Song of the Ocarina web site, since their web site
is down right now. Maybe you could send me a text file of the
story or just tell me their name and their story? If you don't
respond i'll probably send a copy of this e-mail again sometime
in the future wondering if you actually got it or disregarded
it or something. Well, i gotta go.
One of the lost legends: Squallcloud
squallcloud@bluemail.cc
Well to tell you the truth I have no idea what
happened to that site. Nevertheless we hope somebody that is
reading knows about it and is willing to help you. We have posted
your e-mail so someone can get in contact with you.
Link and Zelda
relationship
hi! There has been an argument between
me and my friend lately about Link and Zelda. I don't believe
that they are brother and sister, but she does! Do you happen
to know of any evidence proving that they are not related?
Thanks! Katie
I can't say to much about this. Although I believe
they are brother and sister, I do have some proof they are brother
and sister. One, Link had no dad and Zelda had no mom. When you
meet Zelda for the first time on Zelda: The Ocarina of Time,
Zelda says she is familiar with the name Link, and maybe, just
maybe, Zelda heard it while she was little from her brother Link.
But hey, I'm not always right! =)
Well, we defenetly dont have any evidence that
they are related.
Yes
they are are in fact brother and sister, or so says The Zelda
game on SNES (don't remember, I'm too tired.) Or it begins
to say it. Link's uncle says "Zelda is your...." and
passes out.
I
have to admit that Zelda developers have always played with the
possibility that Link and Zelda are related. I don´t believe
in the theory of the bad translation of the japanese game. It
is said that in the japanese game of Zelda 3 the uncle says:"
Zelda is your destiny", but the last word had to be left
out due to lack of space. That´s pretty silly since we
don´t see such a problem in th whole game even with other
really long speeches from other characters. I do believe Link´s
uncle was about to reveal important info about Link and Zelda´s
relationship. In Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Zelda thinks Link´s
name is "familiar". Next we learn that Link is not
a Kokiri, but a Hylian. The same race as Zelda. Too many coincidences?
Maybe. Maybe not.
A fanfic forum?
ha! yeah, I know you are busy, but screw
it! i am asking for soemthing more even if you ARE busy!!!! well,
us people at the message board want more forums...at least one
more....a fanfic forum....We want a fanfic forum since you NEVER
post our fanfic we submit! well, a lot of people would like that
forum, and how hard IS it to make another forum?i mean....geez...since
you took down the spanish one at "staff only"...i KNOW
you can have more than one forum, and puh-leeeeaz!! (btw, none
of my emails were EVER answered...) Zixie
Yeah I know how you feel, but updating fanfics
is very difficult. Anyway I think someone here from the staff
found a way to update fanfics faster ...errr....ejeeeemmm.. Falco-X...I
think. : P
Well, yes. As Zerofoxie mentioned. things will
change in the way fanfics are updated so you can be sure your
story will be published fast. Check the fanfic section for more
info. About the fanfic forums, I must say that it´s not
a good idea, although many sites are starting to use the forums
to post stories. We strongly avoid that sort of activity since
forums / Message Boards are not intended for that. First, they
are not forever, and your stories posted in a forum will probably
dissapear in few days. Besides it´s difficult to control
the quality of the material posted in a forum, and some of the
stories may include inadecuate content. Don´t worry, we
guarantee that if you follow the new instructions for fanfic
submissions you will have your story posted.
Zelda: Majora's
Mask
C'mon people! It's Zelda! You know...the
series that has brought us joy throught the many years on many
different Nintendo systems. So like they always say...the more
the merrier! Right? Right? ;-x
Anyway...we all know how Miyamoto isn't "directly"
related to the development of the game....but what is "directly"
anyway? The game is still gonna kick ass! ;-p Yes it's a bit
different, but think about it, who
wants to sit in front of a tv playing a game with the same exact
people with the same exact plot...I mean you'd already know how
it ends! So don't listen to that Hershey's commercial! Change
is good...well in
this case anyhow ;-)
Zelda: Gaiden, or Zelda: Mask of Mujula, or Zelda: Mojaro's Mask,
or whatever you wanna call it....just don't call it bad!
hehe ;-p
I mean Ocarina of Time was great was it not? So just because
the triforce wasn't in it doesn't mean we should lose faith in
the people down at Nintendo trying to make another Zelda title.
C'mon.
So I think it's great they keep adding more titles to the series.
Just as long as each one is "different". Too much repetition
gets kinda boring don't you think?
Oh yeah, I'm go with the flow and say "great site".
Honestly though. Keep up the great work. ;- D enarchy
I
agree with you! We should not loose faith in Miyamoto or any
of the Zelda team. The creators of Zelda: Mask of Mujula did
know what they were doing, and I have played Mask of Mujula,
and I must say that they did very well. Even the people who say
they don't like Mask of Mujula, and say it looks bad, their minds
will change over time as they have bought and played it.
I defenetly don't like the idea of a Zelda game
being released every 2 minutes, it's much better when there's
one every 2 years or so. I mean, in football (soccer, yanks)
when someone scores, the crowd go mad, because only about 3 goals
average are scored per match. In basketball however, goals are
scored every minuite, so the crowd don't celebrate as much. So
the moral of this story is that the less Zelda games there are,
the more special they are when they finally come. Damn, i've
only answered the first paragraph. Can I just say that MoM is
brilliant, I've only played it for 30 minuites though, so cant
say for sure.
Well
put! Hershey's, whats wrong with you? Change is almost always
for the better. now leats some chocolate to celebrate this Zelda
Occasion!
Snickers commercial....don't disrespect my Snickers
or I'll give you the beat down with a lawn dart!
Kokiri Pictures
Hi =) I'm making an rpg thing on aw, where
ppl get to be Kokiri characters! Unfortunately, I didn't find
any Kokiri pictures =(
Do you know where i could get individual pictures of each kokiri?
Do u know sum1 who could make some for me?
Also, I would need invented Kokiris...
Thanx!!! =) Pls reply!!! Cristiane
Simonsen
Well we have good news for you!!
In very few days we are going to post all the official Zelda
art (even those that aren't avaliable online) in a section we
have especially opened for that. If you want to check this section
please click
here.
The time in
Majora's Mask
Hi, your site is the best zelda site out
there. Well anyway I heard that an hour in Zelda Majora's Mask
that an hour is about 30-45 seconds. And So each 2 hours will
be 1 minute long gving you only 36 minutes to finish the game
is this true? Gloom2390
Well, a day (24 hours) are 24 real minutes, so
your adventure must be completed in 72 real minutes. But you
will be able to go back in time using the ocarina.
I don't know where you heard you
have to beat the game within 36 minutes to finish the game, but
that's not true. The game consists of small minigames and puzzles
to add more time to your game. For example, if you beat the Jabu
Jabu fishing game, you would get awarded with more time instead
of more useless rupees. =)
Don't worry about it, it really isn't that quick,
plus you can get more time during the game.
What
you say is true HOWEVER you must complete tasks. Go back intime
where your game saves. you take back the items you brought back
with you from the future and continue to the next dungeon or
task. Sounds confusing? You betcha! But It looks like a concept
we will all love.
Add all that to the backtracking
and stuff that you must do and it'll take a while, but not as
long as OoT.
How to contact
Shigeru Miyamoto
Dear Htloz
i'm a big fan and i was just wondering if you could help me with
something, I need to know if you guys know how to get a hold
of Shigeru Miyamoto. If you do please tell me i need to talk
with him seriously i NEED to talk to him this is the future of
zelda were talkin' bout this could change the world. i'm not
just another Zelda fanatic, i am the future and i'm not crazy
so please if you know a way to contact him tell me.
The future is in my hands...I am Sage, that is my name
PLEASE!!! Gamerz64
I'm not fully convinced that your
not crazy. Htloz is gaining freinds at NCL all the time,
so one day we may even get to speak to Mr. Myamoto. But Shigeru
rarely speaks to the press, so don't get your hopes up. We havn't.
You are the future? is there flying cars and big
guns in the future?
Nope, we've got no idea how to get ahold of him
to my knowledge...of course, if we did don't you think we'd be
milking that for all it's worth? =)
Sounds familiar?
Dear falco-x wolfhang and all the rest of htloz.First i would
like to say how great this site is.its full of everything i need. Now
the reason why im e-mailing u is because people say how TOoT
is the first game in the zelda storyline.well if it is the first
game then then how come in the very beginning when u meet zelda
she asks for ur name then she says strange it sounds somehow
familiar. HOW CAN THAT BE!!!! if it really is the first game
then she would never have heard the name link. Please post this
or if u dont post this then e mail me telling me the reason for
my problem and if u do post this give my e mail address it is
aaronb25@hotmail.com. thanks crazed
lunatic
Rumors have it that Zelda and Link
are brother and sister. So if Zelda says she thinks that name
is familiar, then maybe she knows that name because it's his
her long lost brother's name.
It's only a game! NCL only made
Zelda say that to add a bit of humour to the game, after all,
that situation has happend so many times before :)
What
I think she is referring to is her prophecy. Maybe the name Link
was whispered in her dream a the hero with the Kokiri's Emerald.
But maybe I'm the crazed lunatic.
Maybe she remembers Link from the drunken Hylian
fest when Link got drunk and passed out on her. No?
Maybe that was when....oh nevermind...
Zelda 3 problem
Hello!
I'm currently playing Zelda a Link to the past on SNES, Zelda
#3 or
whatever... On account of the fact that I have almost no skill
at video games I need lots of help. I've managed to finde several
places with great walkthroughs (such as your own) but none of
them helpes me with my problem. I'm currently putzing around
the Desert Palace and I've done just about everything except
I can't seem to open the doors in the rooms with the lazer eye
statues. (which is kinda a problem ~_~:) Every time I move toard
the door or try to kill the lazer eye I end up becomeing a rater
crispy fryed version of Link... What am I doing wrong?!
Am I just missing someting realy simple? Anyway any help you
can give me would be realy appreciated.
Thanks in advance, ~*Saturn
San*~
I think your experiencing this
problem becuase you are rather poor at Zelda 3. Dodge those damn
lasers! Up, down, up, down, that's it! swiggle that d-pad! *ahem*
We are all
different
Hey htloz!
I just wanted to say that I love your site - the graphics, the
updates, the info is just amazing! Thanks! But anyway, I juz
wanted to reply to your question about the new Zelda games. Well,
like lots of people, I'm very closed minded about my Zelda plotlines.
Ganon! Zelda! I want my sages! Sure, with a new story, plot twists
and surprises. But same characters! Ok, maybe we don't even need
Ganon. But a moon falling from the sky? It's really a dissappointment
to us Zelda purists. Sure, I'll still be scrambling to get my
Gaiden copy with everyone else. But.....sniff.....I wanted to
see some romantic development with Link and Zelda this time.
The ending to OoT was beautiful and breathtaking............but
short and ultimatly, dissapointing. I mean, we go out and bust
our buts to save the world, and Zelda doesn't even kiss Link
once! GGGGGRRRRRRR. Anyway, if an alternate dimension clone of
Zelda turns up in Gaiden, then I guess it won't be that
painful a storyline. But another point I want to raise is this:
I am sick up people complaining the OoT was to easy! Ok, maybe
for you super gamers out there who do nothing else, what what
about those people who are just completely crap at playing video
games, even if we love Nintendo, Zelda and the N64 with all our
hearts? What about us, who took ages to finish it, died countless
times and needed a cheat book just to get through Lord Jabu-Jabu? As
much as I loved OoT, I will be the first to admit that I was
crap at playing it. And I'm not the only one. I know heaps of
people who, as we speak, are still stuck on the game. (And yes,
they are all over the age of 13) So I don't think its fair to
make future Z games so hard that people like me can't enjoy them,
or even play them. Already I'm hyperventilating about the time
limit in Gaiden. So please, stop whining and spare a thought
for those not blessed with gaming talents, Ok?
Thanks for listening! Miss Mocha
I
share your opinion for just one reason, we are all different
and some of the players aren't as experienced as some others.
Another thing, Link and Zelda? love?? err... that sounds a little
weird to me (I think -only me- they have family ties). Anyway
thanks for sharing your opinion!!
Deku Tree's mouth
Hey, I was on the mysteries section of
this page, and I went to the 'Leads' section. I also have a problem
with one part of the game. When Link is a child, you notice that
when you defeat Queen Gohma, and get the Kokiri's Emerald, the
Great Deku Tree,(to our dismay) sadly shrivels up, and dies.
You know that when he dies, he STILL has his so-called 'mouth'
opened wide! WHY?!? Cause' when Link grows up, and you travel
to the Deku Tree's Meadow, he somehow, and mysteriously, has
his mouth, CLOSED! But, I mean, he's supposed to be DEAD right?!?
I don't think that I would come to the ridicuolous (parden me
for my spelling if it's rong) conclusion that all of the Kokiri
children pried his mouth closed with a cro-bar. Is this a mistake?
Glitch? I'm not completely sure about it, so it may just be something
that the programmers missed. But, I don't think that they actually
rushed the game making process or anything, but it took them
four years! They could've done a eensie-weensie, teenie-tiny,
bit better... ~Zfanatic~
It's
only a game! NCL thought they would close his mouth rather than
pointless replacing the items and enemies ina room you don't
need to enter. Now look what you've done! that's the 4th
pair or underwear this week!
They beat him with a bamboo beat down stick and
used him as a pinata. Don't believe me? Good you
don't have a reason to.
Cucumbers
in Link's Awakening
When you turn the Cucumbers (the blobby, electric enemies) in
Link's Awakening inside out (?) with your hookshot, they pop
eyes out and you (if your careful) can talk with them. They say
stuff like "Hey Mon!", "You know you want it",
and "It can produce hundreds of polygons!" What the
hell is it talking about? Who's Mon? Is the polygons he's refering
to related to N64? And did these creatures turn inside out and
talk in the non-DX version? Please set me straight. Christian
J Mysliwiec
When
he says 'mon', he is saying 'man' in Jamaican lingo.
Maybe he wants to do the hippity dipity, either
that or something else, but that does sound incredibly wrong.
