Night has
settled over Hyrule. From the fields of Hyrule, the castle looms
over it in all its majestic beuaty. At the Castle, Zelda is in
her chambers preparing for sleep. Every night she tries to get
to sleep by reading a book, in fact, a very special book. It
is a book her mother gave her. Closer to the book we see the
title is "Reflections", a journal that Zelda's mom
wrote. Her window is open and a faint breeze is coming in. A
look comes over Zelda's face and she begins to read aloud, "After
Hyrule has been at peace, my father always told me that the heavens
were going to fall. The sign of the destruction of Hyrule would
start with a white flake from the sky, and fires will start on
Lake Hylia, and the Turtle Rock will come to life to Destroy
the land. He always told me that I would be the one to warn people
of the destruction and the rise of a new evil, but I dont believe
him." Zelda thought for a few seconds. Hyrule was at peace.
Gannon had been destroyed fo! r some time. After she finished
her thought, a strong gust of wind came in the window and blew
her candle out. She looked around and a faint blue light appered
in the reflection where she stood. She examined the reflection
further and she didnt see her own reflection. She was about to
yell for Link, who was down the hall, but she felt a calm peace
about her. She got closer the mirror and as she did, the blue
light mooved closer. When she got right up on the mirror, She
heard the most sothing voice she had ever heard. It was her mother.....
Zelda stood
back as the reflection of her decased mother slowly appeard in
the mirror. A halo of blue light surrounded her head."Zelda..."
the voice said,"Ganon is once again coming to power in the
Dark World. I will show you the way to stop him, but you must
look for the signs. My Daughter, you must get Link to stop Ganondorf
before it is too late... too late... too late..." The voice
of Zelda's mother ceased. By now Zelda was crying hystaricly
on the elaborite rug next to her full length mirror. "What's
the matter?" Link cried as he burst into the room throught
Zelda's locked door. Zelda could not help but laugh through her
tears. Hear was the warrior who was destined to save Hyrule,
decked out in a pair of pajamas. She finally managed to stop
laughing. "Link, your face is all red." "I know"
Link said growing even reder. Zelda's smile changed to a frown.
"Link, get dressed and I'll explain my crying." Link
walked out of the room, looking over his sholder at Princess
Zelda. When Link came back Zelda explained about the mirror,
her mother, and the signs that where supposed to appear. "I
must defeat him once and for all!" Link told Zelda. "No,
we must find my mother's first sign." Zelda said as she
picked up her mothers jornal and closed it. She looked at the
cover of the book as a golden flash of light shimmered over the
title, REFLECTIONS. "Agh" Zelda dropped the book, befor
it hit the ground Link scooped it up."It... it is possesed!"
Zelda stammered. Link opeaned the book and looked at the illastrations
which Zelda's mother had drawn. Link's mouth hung slightly opean
as and oracl emerged from the pages of the book. "When the
owl screaches, at the setting sun, look for the key, and run..."
The oracl dissapeared as the last silver wisps of her being faded
into nothingness.
Link got
up and began pacing about the room. "Zelda, what are we
going to do? Activate the Knights of Hyrule? What?" Link
asked. "I dont know," Zelda replied "But we need
to act fast." She walked out to the balcony and looked over
her kingdom. A silver tear rolled down her cheek. As it go close
to her lips, she began to shiver. The air was cold outside. She
began to look up at the sky as a breeze blew over her. A snow
flake fell down and touched her cheek. She smiled as winter had
settled over Hyrule. They hadn't seen snow in a long time. In
fact, over 200 years they hadn't seen snow. A look of horror
came over her face. She realized snow was white. She yelled for
Link. He came out with his sword draw. "What Zelda?"
He asked. Zelda fell down to her knees. She knew what was going
on. The first part of her mothers prophecy is coming true. It
began to snow. Zelda began to cry in fear for her land. "Link,
I dont want Hyrule to die." She sobbed "What are we
going to do?? This new evil has got to be more powerful than
Gannon, and how can we fight Gannon too?" Link looked out
around the castle. He began to shiver. "Zelda, I have an
idea. Come inside." He said. He helped her up. They went
inside and opened her mothers journal to look for an answer.
Towards the end of the book, Zelda's mom keep writing about the
new evil. It talked about her Grandfathers old nemisis, Zerel,
a powerful magician, that could change forms to any thing he
wanted. He was destroyed by his own majic. There wasn't to much
detail about how the final battle took place, but it was bad
enought to kill Zelda's great grandfather and left the Kingdom
in Zelda's grandmothers hands. It seems that the history of the
monarchy in Hyrule is the king to die and the Kingdom was left
in the hands of the Queen or the Princess. That is the case now.
Zelda is Queen now, because her father pased away about 2 years
ago. Zelda began to think after her brief history lesson. "Link,
lets get some sleep, and go see the triforces in the morning.
Im worried about them." Zelda asked. Link agreed and kissed
Zelda good night and left the room. Zelda looked up at the ceiling.
"Gods, if you hear me, Protect my land, my people, Link,
and me...." She uttered the final words and went to sleep.
Zelda tossed
and turned all night hearing her mother in her head saying "too
late" over and over again. The next morning she got up and
quikly changed out of her bed clothes. She stopped for a second,
just before she put her cold crown on her head. She listned and
didnt hear anything. She put her crown on and went to the window
and looked out. Kids were playing infront of the castle, throwing
snow at each other. None of them know of the terror about to
unfold. Impa came in the room to clean it up. She looked at Zelda
and then at her bed. She saw her mothers journal on the floor
open. "Zelda," Impa called "Go talk to the triforce
of wisdom. It will guide you. You can over come the new evil."
Zelda spun around in shock. "You know too?" She cried.
"Yes, I do, but I'm not worried. You and Link can handle
it, I sure." Impa said. Zelda smiled and Impa continued
to clean. Link came into Zelda's chambers and they left to see
the triforce. They both got on there horses and left the castle.
They hid the triforces pretty well this time. Only three people
knew where they were. Two of them were on there way to see them
and the other person was the Priest at the sanctuary where they
were hidden. They went inside and up to the alter. The looked
for the priest but he wasnt there. The went to go be hind the
alter to the secrent entrance but it was open already. Zelda
began to panic. She pulled her gown up a little and ran down
the hall. Link fallowed after her with sword drawn. They got
to the end of the hall to the entrance of the room to the triforces.
They went in the room and saw the priest was dead and was marked
with a sign. It was a "Z" sorounded by a triangle.
Zelda lookd at it and she touched it. She removed her hand and
the insignia burned away. She knew who did it. Zerel. She went
into the interior of the room and saw the triforces were gone.
"Link, what are we going to do?" Zelda cried. "I
dont know" He replied. "My mother mentioned Gannon
had returned. Maybe we should go to the dark world?" Zelda
said. Link nodded his head. The went outside to a crownd of people
running. They stoped one of the people to find out what was going
on. "There is a fire!" the towns person cried. The
sanctuary was close to the lake. They both know there was a fire
on the lake and head for the lake. Ther wer both right. Flames
were floating on the water, and all they could hear, was laghter,
in fact 2 things were laughing. They knew one was Gannon, but
the other they didnt recognize. Sunset was near...
"We
must reach the abby befor the sun sets!"Zelda cried. But
the crowd was thining as they ran from the trecharouse fire.
Zelda held her hand to her mouth as the last bit of sunlight
disappeared over the horizen. Just then a owl took flight and
stated to give it's low, mournful call. The crowd paused as the
screech grew in depth and filled the air around them. Link took
Zelda's hand and started to run."RUN, Run!" he shouted
at the crowds, but they would not heed his advice. They instead
walked twords the banks of the lake, which had stopped burning.
Zelda parted her lips and said "When the owl schreeches,
at the setting sun, look for the key, and run..." Link pulled
Zelda along throught the crowd who was pushing twords the banks
in even greater numbers. The owl's flight twisted and turned
over the center of the lake. The owl suddenly did a nose dive
twords the middle of Lake Hylia. As it gained speed it glew with
an unholy redience. It dived into the water, and the people seemed
to be released from a spell. "Hurry run!" Link cried
as he neard the abby. The elven people turned around, because
a faint gurgaling sound was coming from the lake. A spout of
water flew into the sky, and as it returned it took with it the
rest of the lake. At that point people where running for the
abby, but link knew there was no hope. The ground crumbled away,
letting the elves fall into a pit of blackness. It was havok.
Pleaple screamed as they were swallowed into the pit, which was
darker than the night surrounding them. Link pulled Zelda into
the abby just as the dirt gave way beneath her feet. Queit. All
the elves had perished because of their own ignorance. But why
was the abbby not swallowd? A small wimper wafted through the
stone windows. "Help... some one... any one?" Link
peered over the edge. He was looking into an abyss.Clining from
a vine attached to the stone wall was a little girl. "Help,
PLEASE!" Link pulled her up. The girl started to cry."Hush,"
Zelda said soothingly " your all right now. She cradled
the little girl in her arms. "What happened here?"
she asked Link. "I don't Know" he told her truthfully.
"What's your name." Zelda asked her. "Helen"
she replied. "Kachunka.... Kachunka.." Zelda looked
at Link with a start as he dissapeared throught the abby door
into the abyss. "NOOOOOOO" Zelda screamed, tears welling
in her eyes. "Zelda, Zelda come here!" Zelda ran to
the door wipingaway her tears. "Catch!" Zelda caught
the hookshot as Link tooed it to her. He was standing on a piece
of land which was considerably far away. "Use it" he
shouted. Zelda gathered Helen into her arms and shot the hookshot
directly into the tree link was next to. She pushed the retraction
button and was wizzed across the abyss to the safe haven. Zelda,
Link, and Helen all layed down on the grass. When zelda woke
up it was morning. She looked up in time to see Helen opean her
mother's journal, which she had left in her carry bag. Again
an Oracl emerged from the pages. This time it was a phoenix.
A mythical bird of fire. "The smallest of the creatures...
And the biggest of statues... Who protects all evil... Shall
destroy all good." The bird exploded into ashes. Link collected
them and put them in a jar with water. He took out the now orange
ashes and put them between two leaves. "Fire" Link
said in a low voice. He took out a peandant from between the
leaves where the ashes once were. Link put it into his pocket.
"FIRE" he screamed. Immediatley a plume of fire flew
from Link's fingertips. He turned to Zelda and smiled. One of
the four elements had been recovered. Now all he had to do was
find Earth, Wind, and Water. "Let's go" Link said to
them. The trio walked towards the neighboring town. "We
must get to the bottom of this!"
As link was
walking along the path with Zelda, a long, golden arrow flew
past his head. "Watch out!" link yelled. As he and
the princess ran, he began to fire small bits of magic at the
protruding soldiers. As he quickly darted behind a tree, he unsheathed
his sword and began to concentrate his energy. As the tip of
his sword began to glow,he remembered Zelda. As he revealed himself
he saw he was too late, the princess was captured. He ran on
the path following the soldiers, until he found something he
had missed, a small fort. As Link began to search the way for
an entrance, he began to hear a voice: "Link....In the dungeon.....Hurry....Magic....on
the....." Link began to run. He tried to focuse his power
on contacting the princess, but he couldn't quite get through.
What? he wondered. What do I use Fire on? As Link was wandering
around the fort, a gang of soldiers appeared. "halt! stay
where you are!" Link grumbled. "Oh yeah, I'm really
going to stand here!" just as he said that, another arrow
went past his head. stunned, Link focused magic on his sword.
he raised it above his head, and with a mighty blow he twirled
the blade down, whistling through the soldiers' skull. with a
loud CRACK! one by one the soldiers began to fall. As link enclosed
on the last one, the soldier began to smile. "hahahahaha...."
with a loud whistle, he fired an arrow into link's arm. "arghhh!"
Link cried as he fell to the ground. with a grin on his face,
the soldier pulled him into the fort's depths....
Link wakes
up, noticing he is in a small cell in a dungeon....Zelda beside
him. Helen was lucky enough to get away from the guards, unlike
Zelda and Link. Zelda says, "I thought you were going to
rescue me...not join me in my death. We must think of something.
What about your fire? Try to burn down the bars." Link quickly
tries to use his flames on the bars...but it's no use, they are
made of metal. Link sees the guard and thinks of a plan. First,
he must find out why he is being chased and where Zerel is. Link
tells Zelda of his plan and then puts it to work. First, Link
acts as though he is having a ceasure. Zelda shouts, "Quick...someone
help him. Guard! You know that if Zerel sees him dead you will
be the one to blame." The Guard, realizing that his life
is in stake, quickly opens the gate to try to help Link. Link
quickly shoots a flame of burning fire towards the Guard. The
Guard falls to the ground, nothing but ashes. Link and Zelda
start to sneak out and try to finish their plan. They see two
gaurds blocking their way out. Link sneaks up behind of them
and covers his mouth. He then knocks him out in another room.
He takes his suit and then comes back. The other guard, who was
wondering where his partner was, now sees Link dressed up as
a guard, and the real guard doesn't know the difference. Link
quickly shoots a small flame at the guard, just enough to make
him injured. Link takes his suit and gives it to Zelda, and now
they are both in disguise. But first, they put the two guards
in their original clothes and lock them back up. Link and Zelda
continue through the fortress. Suddenly, Link gets a telepathic
message. It is from the Fire god. "Link...once you get a
pendant of the element, you will be able to communicate with
that God also. You need to get the other pendants Link...and
quickly!" Link and Zelda quietly enter the throne room,
pretending to be guards. They start to hear Zorel talk of his
master plan. But, the two original guards rush into the room..the
one wearing the princesses close especially embarrased. "There
are imposters in the castle. Quickly, we must find them."
Zerel orders all the troops to come into the room. Each start
to take off their helmets. What will Zelda and Link do??
The line
of guards taks off their helmets. As the next to last person
takes off their helmet Link tenses for action, but a burst of
light swirls throught the open door. The guards and Zerel stop
immediately in their tracks. "Wa..." Zelda begins,
but she is cut off. "Hurry," It is Helen" I will
explain later, but we are out numbered here!" Following
Helen they run throught the Fortresses many stairwells and chambers.
In a few moments they hear startled shouts as Zerel and his followers
relize that two people went missing. At that point guards streamed
in throught doorways. "This way!" Helen cried, we must
reach the drawbridge!" Finally they reached it, but the
gate was down, there was no escape here. Zerel's troops quickly
closed in around the three. Zerel made his way to the front."Ha
ha, We meet again Helen, you hideouse little nymph. And your
helping the rebles, how quiant. Your timestopping power will
not work again, you must charge it. Honey why did you leave?
Do you not love your father?" Link grew red with anger.
Helen had been a decoy to lead Zerel to them!" You nasty
little..." Link was held back by Zelda. "No Helen is
on our side. "Speak" Zerel ordered Helen. "I do
not love you father, because you killed your wife, my mother!"
Zelda picked up the trembling nymph into her arms. "Be quiet,
Link will save us" Zerel backed into his crowd of soldiers.
"Destroy them, even the little girl! KILL THEM ALL!"
The troops had only advanced a few steps before Link unleash
a hail of flames onto only three of the soldiers. He looked at
his hands horrified as he relised to cast the fire spell again
he needed more magic dust. "look" Zelda cried. "They
are setting each other on fire!" Zerel had to open the gate
and lower the drawbridge to save his troops. Zelda, Link, and
Helen jumped into the freezing water and swam to the banks of
the moat. There they got out of the water and ran towards the
small town in the distance. "Major!" Zerel screamed,
"Saria will burn tomorrow morning, just like my soldiers!"
Later that
evening they settled down in an inn in Saria. Link was still
a little puzzeled about Hellen and Zerel and such, but he didnt
let it bother him. He began to wonder about the third sign in
Zelda's moms journal. He thought and thought. Finally Helen fell
to sleep and Link went over and sat by Zelda. "She's so
beautyful, isnt she?" Zelda asked. Link nodded his head.
"You know," Zelda continued, "I've always wanted
a child. One I could protect." Link smiled "Zelda,"
he said "I hate to bring this up, but, what about turtle
rock?" Zelda looked shocked. "I forgot." Link
looked at her with so much compasion in his eyes. "I dont
want you to lose your kingdom. We must go to turtle rock in the
morning at the crack of dawn." Zelda agreed but she knew
as well as Link did that it would be very hard to get up death
mountin being on the other side of it. It was a steep slope with
no paths, but they needed to try. Link kissed Zelda and they
went to sleep.
That morning Link was up before dawn gathering supplies. He got
some bombs, reparied his hook shot and got a staff. Zelda woke
up and got Helen ready to go. "Zelda," Helen asked
"how did you know..." Zelda cut her off "My mother
told me, in her journal about you. Trust me" she said "Ill
protect you from Zerel." Hellen looked up to Zelda and said
"i bet you'll be a good mom." They both laughed. Link
came into the room and Zelda explained to him as they left all
about Helen and how she knew about her. She also explained how
Zerel was stoped. Helen knew her father was evil and helped Zelda's
father in the first place. Helen never ages she always stays
young because of her control of time. After Zelda's fathers death,
Helen froze Zerel in his weakend state in time and hid him deep
in Lake Hylia. They Fire undid Helen's spell and she came back
to stop Zerel from getting out, but she was to late, and almost
died. Link was very amazed to say the least that a little girl
could do all that. They found there way to death mountain but
noticed as they thought, it was too steep to climb. Helen looked
around. They were real close to where she had been hiding for
a number of years. She walked out into a grass field and Link
and Zelda followed. All of a sudden she yelled at the top of
her lungs "Quazar!!!!!" As soon as she did that, a
green dragon with wings popped up out of the grass. It came over
to Helen and bent his massive head down to her. She petted him
and turned to Zelda and link and said "Hop on. Zerel gave
him to me as a child. He'll fly us up to trurtle rock."
They agreed and hopped on and soared up in the air to turtle
rock.
Link, Zelda,
and Helen rode to Turtle Rock on Quazar. Zelda had never felt
so invigorated in her life. But this happy time was not meant
to be. A scream from Helen shattered their world of happyness."
AAAAAUUUUUUGGGGHHHHHHH!Look, look, Saria is burning! Turn around,
please!" Link veered Quazar to the right, making a sharp
turn. The reached the town just as the plumes of flame and smoke
had engulfed a little over half the town. "Helen,"
Link cried,"Use your time stopping power, hurry, you must
center all your power on the flames, and not the people."
Helen took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and the screaming
stopped. People began pouring out of the town, but the havoc
was not yet over. "Hurry, run! RUN!" Zelda and Link
screamed at the crowd. Link dashed into the burnt part of the
crippled city looking for survivors. Zelda also helped him. Zelda
now stayed by Helen's side. "Zelda, Help me!" Link
cried. "No, if Helen falters for one moment all is lost,
she will have no power over these flames!" Link hurried
into the city again. He jumped out of the city just as Helen
slumped back into Zelda's arms, asleep and exaughsted. The flames
swiftly overtook the rest of the town. "This must be the
work of my father" Helen said later in the evening.
A large crowd gathered around the little nymph who had saved
their lives. "Hooray, Hoora!" The crowd shouted. Helen
had saved them from a horrible fate. By now the sun had set and
the evening cold was setting in. Zelda took REFLECTIONS out of
her night bag. "I will read you a story" Zelda told
Helen. "Yes, please. That would be nice." She replied.
Link stood away from them in the shadows, avoiding the fire light.
Zelda looked so beautiful, and Helen so fragiel. He loved them
both dearly, Helen like a daughter and Zelda... He dismissed
the thought, for it was hopeless. An old woman approched Link.
"How could you see me in the darkness?" He asked her.
"There are many things that do not have answers, young warrior.
Take this, and keep it for thyself, and give this to the enchanting
little girl." She handed him two pakages. "The smallest
of the creatures, and the biggest of the statues... Who protects
all evil, Shall destroy all good." The old woman did not
say good bye, instead she seemed to melt back into the darkness
where she had come from. Link walked to the fireside and handed
Helen her bundle, and he unwrapped his. "Where did you get
those?" Zelda questioned him, but he was not listening.
His eyes where fixed on a solitary human for, just far away enough
to not be clearly see, but could easily overhear their conversation.
Link recognized it as the woman who had given them the bundles.
She seemed to float away, leaving darkness in her wake. "Who
was that?" Zelda asked. But she could not answer. "
Look Zelda, I have been given the element of wind!" "And
I the one of water" Link replied. But they said no more,
for they all went to sleep by the fire side. Save one. Link stood
by the tree, just outside of lights rage. Link watched a lone
she-wolf glide across the medow. "I will protect theeeeee........."
Link stood unmoving as the wolf disappeared. He felt comfoted
in the chill air as he placed more logs on the fire, for someone,
or something, was always at his side, watching and protecting
all he held dear. As these thoughts entered his mind he immediatley
glanced at Zelda, and sighed a mournful sigh.
The next morning
Link looked around and was amazed he fell asleep. He looked over
at Zelda. He smiled. Her hair was blowing in the wind. He looked
over at Helen and she had drool all over her face. She was really
worn out. He turned back to Zelda. He thought for a second and
realized something. He has got to protect her kingdom for her.
"Just maybe if he did she ...No, Zelda wouldn't." He
looked over the hills and the looked at death mountian. He looked
over its vast expanse. His eyes wandered over to turtle rock,
but, turtle rock wasn't there. He wipped his eyes and looked
again. It was gone. He ran over to Zelda and Helen and woke them
up. They decided they needed to go investigate, but they knew
the tragedy. The destruction of Hyrule had begun. Zelda began
to cry then she stoped her self. She stood up. The wond picked
up and the air from the medow was filled with hope. Zelda had
a look of determination on her face. She looked around. The wind
began to blow harder and was beating at her face. She raised
her hands to the air. A glow came around her. She looked up to
the sky and said "You know my heart gods. Guide me to the
trifoce, to Zerel and give me and my friends, the power to CRUSH
HIM!" All of a sudden the wind stopped and she lowered her
hands. She looked over the medow and all the hills. Everything
was quiet, then a small bird began to chirp. It flew over Zelda's
head. She knew it was a sign becase the bird was white. In her
mothers journal her mom had wrote about a white bird that helped
her . Then thousands of white birds came flying from the grass
and the trees filling the air with their glorious song. It was
a song of hope and triumph. Zelda turned to Link. "We will
win." She said confidently. "We need to go to Death
Mountian." Zelda said. Helen called Quazar to them and they
got on. The flew up to the place where trutle rock was. When
they landed Helen sent Quazar away and would call him when she
needed him. They looked around to she what happened to turtle
rock. They looked over all of Hyrule from the top of the mountian
and still no sign of turtle rock. Not even a single rock looked
out of place. There was no land slide or any thing. Link waled
over to the whole where turtle rock was. He peered down inside
and saw a faint blue light. It lookd like a portal, but to where?
The portal
shimmered and revealed a different world; not the light world
and not the dark world but a place that none of the three had
seen before. Looking about them once again to see if there was
anything else to do, Link decided what must be done. "This
must be where Turtle Rock has gone. It has become a portal for
Zerel to use to destroy Hyrule." "I'm afraid Link"
Zelda said gazing down to the desolate wastes of Zerel's kingdom"
"So am I but there has been enough fear in this land already.
Zerel has gone too far - it is time to stop him before all is
lost" Just at that moment a terrific rumbling began and
the three were thrown to their feet due to the tremors. The skies
clouded and rain lashed down suddenly as thunder boomed and lightening
cracked overhead. The storm continued as the clouds swirled in
the sky to form a vortex spanning many miles across the land.
Th esun was oblitterated and darkness enveloped Hyrule, a great
shrill cry escaped the vortex and deafened Link, Zelda and Helen.
A final boom of thunder called a silence to the scene and the
skies cleared to reveal Hyrule just as it had been five minutes
before; yet now there stood Gannon before them. They shrank back
in fear but there was something different from the last time
Link had seen him - he was smiling! "AAAAHHH" he sighed
in deep satisfaction. "For too many years I have spent in
imprisonment, but now the gods have released me to combat Zerel."
"Link, you must join me."
Zelda And
helen wanted to go with ganon, but link did'nt trust ganon. He
wanted to,but he had a feeling ganon was on Zerels side.Link
said, you guys go, but they were already gone!Link wounderd if
ganon captured them. Then he sunndenly hears a evil laugh. Then
he sees a goblin carrying a letter. The goblin gave link the letter
and ran!Link opend the letter, it said:link!if you ever want
to see Zelda,Helen or Ganon again SURRENDER NOW!!Singhed:Zerel.Link
did not want to surrender, but his friends life was depending
on it.He went to the forest of dispair to look for the master
sword. He wounderd, what is in this forest?
Link looked
around. He was all alone. He really missed the company of Zelda
and Helen. He began to ponder about Gannon too. How in the world
could that have ben Gannon, he was dead. Link thought out loud
"I killed him my self, and saw him die." He stopped
for a moment and sat down. He thought about Zelda's moms journal.
It said that Zerel was a master of diguise. Gannon is DEAD. That
must have been Zerel. He thought awhile longer about how to defeat
Zerel. The only thing he could think of was to get the master
sword and lead an army of hylian nights to battle Zerel. "I
just have to do it in time before turtle rock comes back!"
he said aloud. After he rested for awhile, he decended down Death
Mountian and headed for the forest. On his way there he picked
up some bombs from a local store. He got to the entrance of the
forest and headed in. The forest of despair didnt look so bad
as it seemed. In fact, he had never been there before, so he
didnt know what to expect. He crossed over many steams and climed
though many vines. Squirles and birds looked like they were the
owners of the forest. It was a very cherfull place. The trees
and vines began to get a little thick. He really had no idea
which way to go, but anyway was good. He passed by a tree that
was hollowed out at the bottom. He didnt think any thing of it.
Then he heard a noise coming from it. He turned around and found
a little boy with red hair. "Hello Mister. Your tall! What
are you doing in our woods?" The boy questioned. Link looked
baffeled. Link replied "OUR woods??" The little boy
smiled and yelled "COME OUT!!!!!". Link looked around
and saw a dozen more children. "Were the gaurdians of the
Master Sword." the boy said.
"Are
you the fairy man fortold in the prophecy?" Asked the leader
of the red haired children. "The one that carries the mark
of the Tri-Force." "It is I" said Link. showing
them the tatoo emblazoned on his arm after his previous meeting
with that golden gem. "Then let us lead you to the sword."
The red haired children took Link along the winding path through
the dense forest. A clearing appeared ahead, stepping out into
the sunlight, Link took hold of the hilt and drew it out in one
clean movement. As he held it in the light of the sinking sun,
a wolf cry ripped the air. Looking about him he noticed that
the children had vanished - in their place stood a pack of snarling
werewolves

survival:
Link acted quickly as the wolves circled him. The Dark marked
wolf leader took on Link as the others fell back. With a thrust
of his fist, Link thrashed the animal in the side as it fell
to the ground yelping. No later than then when the wolf fell,
the pack attacked him throwing him to the musty earth. The wolf
leader returned, tearing Link in side. With a cry of agony, Link
regained his strength, muscling off the wolves. A terrifying
screech for help hit the air and halted Link's desperate fight
for survival, when one of the redheaded children were being circled
by a wolf. Link strategically dogded the rest of the pack to
save the child. As the wolf was just to snap Link walloped the
wolf in the nose, cutting off it's air circulation. The wolf
lay there, motionless. The child looked at Link with big eyes,
a quivering lip and began to cry. "Hey, it's okay now. Don't
be scared." Link gave the redheaded boy a cheerful smile,
"It's all over now." Before he turned to see the other
wolves on the move towards them. "I shouldn't have spoke
so soon." he mumbled to himself. Link propped the small
boy on on a high stump away from the reach of the wolves, when
a wolf attacked him at his feet. "This is it, I've had enough
of this!", he said to himself. He struck the wolf with his
fist, as it broke away it's clenching bite from his foot.
Link found his best solution to aim for the nose.
After awhile, all the wolves were at last defeated. Link threw
the dead wolves all in a pile. Suddenly the pile of wolves disapearred.
"Zerel." he muttered. The thought maddened him, then
he thought of the child.
Link smiled
at the young boy, and took him down from the tall stump. The
boy, still overwhelmed with fright, held tightly as Link climbed
down the stump slowy. The redheaded children returned cautiously
as Link turned to them. With amazement in the leaders eyes, he
looked at Link. "You saved one of our own". "He
surely IS the prophecied fairy man!" said a girl. "We
must take him to the Master Sword!" another said, as they
all chimed in together saying, "Yes, yes!". Link didn't
seem to mind their decision, as they all cheered with excitement,
leading him on toward the Master Sword. As Link walked with them,
as they pulled him along. A piercing pain shuddered Link's side.
He put his hand to the pain, falling to the ground. His vision
blurred, he struggled to get back up. Shocked, the crowd of redheaded
children lay him down as he lay barely gained conciousness. Out
of the fog, a woman appeared.
Slowly she walked, not to frighten the children. The little boy
tugged on the leaders' arm. The leader turned to see her. The
children gazed at her, one by one. She was blazed with Dark brown
hair, royal blue, shimmering eyes. "shhhhh...." She
whispered. The children parted the way to Link.
Link looked up at her with blurry eyes......"Zelda?"
She smiled at him, held out a bag full of sleeping powder. "You'll
be okay" she said to him, sprinkling the dusty powder over
him, as he closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
The Child
of Promise
Stinging pain hit Link's side as a cold towel melted and eased
his nerves. Link opened his eyes. He was in a hut. There sat
the Dark haired woman as she sang to him a soft tune. He turned
to see the crowd of children, murmuring to each other. Link sprung
to his feet, attentive of the woman. "What's wrong?"
she replied. He stood cautiously, "You're not Zelda."
he replied. "Well of course I'm not!" she said, "I'd
never be as fair as the Princess of Hyrule." she reach for
his arm, "Come closer, you're still bleeding." Link
brushed her arm aside, "No," he said coldly, "I've
a mission to retrieve the master sword, I must find it".
He got up to leave. She moved in front of him. "Is this
what I get for trying to help the chosen one?!" she scolded
angrily. "Please." she looked deeply into his eyes,
"Sit back down." Link sat down on a stool, she kneeled
beside him. "Put your arms up, I need to bandage your wound."
Link rolled his eyes and put his arms up. She cleaned the wound
and weaved the bandage around the middle of his chest. The satiny
cloth snagged his wound, "What is that?" he asked.
"It's skulltula webbing," she said, "I weaved
it to make a really good and protective bandage." Link looked
around as the children smiled back at him. Silence gaped the
room.........
"So, uhm, .......may I ask who's hospitality this is?".
She tied the bandage, and turned to the bucket of water. "Sahjuil
(pronunced Say-jeel), and you? Chosen one?". "Link."
"Pleased to meet you, Link." she smiled. "There.
Finished." She stood up. She began to clean up. "What
was the song you were singing to me when I woke up?" he
asked. "What? Oh! That song!" she said, "It's
been in my family for years. Passed down by my family's....heritage...."
She slowy looked down to the floor, frowning in dispair. Link
understood her grief. "I," Link started, "I was
different. In fact I know I'm different.
The Kokori kids never took me in as one of them". He looked
at her standing there, in the corner, seeing tears stream down
her shadowed face.
Suddenly, a boom of thunder rolled and the readheaded children
were aroused. Rain began to pour hard, and lightning flashed
from the open door. Link looked out the door. "Why does
this happen?" he asked Sahjuil. "I'm cursed. My family
was cursed, they were all killed. I'm the last to live, and the
last to die. The rain comes when I cry, and leaves when I'm happy.
That's why the forest is named the forest of Despair. I'm never
happy." She picked up an engraved box. She walked toward
him and sat on the stool beside him. Sahjuil opened the box.
Inside enclosed a medallion. Link eyes lit up with amazement.
He reached for it, but held back and looked to her. "Go
ahead." She said."Hold it". Link cupped the shining
medallion in his hand. He noticed the inscription was the same
as on the engraved box. Sahjuil then raised the cuff on her right
arm for Link to see the same emblazoned mark on her lower wrist.
"I am the last living child of promise, Link." She
told him. "Zerel killed my family".
Fire!
Link stayed that night for Sahjuil insisted he stay for the wound
to heal. The next day, Link awoke to the smell of sawdust, and
hay....burning. Link looked over to see the pot engulfed in flames,
and the whole hut was on fire. Link ran out the door to find
the roof done for. The Redheaded children were outside far away
from the the hut, calling for Sahjuil. Ashes were everywhere.
Link ran to the leader of the children. "Where's Sahjuil?"
Link cried. "I don't know!" he coughed, "She wasn't
tending to the pot of food, and...." "Nevermind!"
Link said, "Just get as far away as you can, and stay there!".
Link went back inside the hut as a beam fell in front of his
feet. "Link!" Sahjuil cried, "Get the box!! Don't
let it burn!!!" Sahjuil started coughing, uncontrollably.
"Where are you?!" Link yelled. There was no answer.
Link looked all over to find to the the box. He opened a drawer
as flames up in his face. On the floor lay the engraved box,
Link went to pick it up as a foot smashed his hand on a metal
frame, burning hot.
Link looked up to find, "Zerel!" he coughed, "What
do you want?". "YOU!" Zerel shouted, "I want
you to surrender to me." "Never!" Link snarled.
"Where's Sahjuil?". "Oh she's around" he
grinned, "But you're at your mercy seat and that's just
where I want you." Zerel hovered over Link like a eagle
on prey. Suddenly the back door flung open and Sahjuil jumped
on his back, strangling Zerel at the neck. "You're gonna
pay for what did my family! Link, run!" Link watched Zerel
struggle for breath as Sahjuil held tight, her intentions strong.
Zerel paced back a few steps as he lost his balance falling on
Sahjuil. "Sahjuil!!!!" Link yelled, looking at her
motionless body. Link looked at Sahjuil, and picked up the box.
Zerel began to get up, and started to murmur, "You, you...."
Zerel started, "I'll GET YOU!! You'll surrender sooner or
later you wimp!" Zerel disappeared. Link ran to Sahjuil,
picked her up and carried her outside.
The children gasped seeing Sahjuil hurt, and Link already wounded.
"Link?" the leader spoke, "Is she?". Link
put her to the ground, and knelt by her side. A gulp of air came
from Sahjuil's mouth, her body in shock. "Link?" she
cried. "RUN! You have terrible dangers after you!"
"I know." he told her, "You helped me, and so
I must return your favor. Come with me on my journey." Link
held the Medallion in his hand. "But I can't," she
simplified. "What? You have to go home?" he smiled.
Sahjuil looked to her hut, and laughed as the sun shone bright.
"I guess not! Let's go!".
Without further
adue, the redheaded children took Link to find the master sword.
Sahjuil walked along singing the tune of her ancestors, "alun
seijuana barud mahonda abeadel lahdin farudi.......". Link
followed her song after awhile with the Ocarina. Along the way,
the two talked of destiny, fate, the encrypted medallion, and
the master sword, and Zerel. It was then they found there friendships
was destined. The redheaded children stopped in front of an engraved
wall. "This is as far as we go." the leader told Link.
"But wait! You haven't even taken me to the master sword!".
"Oh yes we have! Look closely in the wall." the leader
stood with his arms folded. Link peered straight through the
wall....he saw the undying figure of the encanted master sword.
"There it is!" he yelled, "There's the-!"
Sahjuil covered Links mouth with her hand. "Never EVER,
shout out the finding of the master sword," she whispered,
"Zerel is all around us." She took her hand away from
Link's mouth. Link looked up to see red eyes peering down at
him. "Then, what am I supposed to do?" he whispered
to Sahjuil. "You've only found the Mirror Image of the master
sword through the wall," Sahjuil told him. "Didn't
you read the bottom of the stone?" Link looked down at the
bottom of the stone: 'Whoever so desireth the Master Sword, ye
will find the Stone of Trickery before thine eyes. To suceed,
ye must think as if ye are a mirrored stone'. "What is THAT
supposed to mean?" Link asked Sahjuil."A stone doesn't
think!" "Are you that blind?!" she said bluntly.
"You look in the stone, and find the mirror image of the
master sword." "Ah, I see what you mean." Link
replied. "So that means we must go....backwards?" "Exactly."
She said. "But be careful, because if you lose track of
the maze. You'll never return." "Um, maybe you'd better
go first," Link told her. "I get lost very easily."
Sahjuil laughed. "Take this, and you'll never be led wrong."
Sahjuil gave Link the Medallion, and he put it around his neck.
"I'll be here to help you," She touched at the Medallion,
"Through this." he turned around, looking at the dark
bushed area. And left. Link twisted and turned through the maze,
finding himself going through many dead ends and periless walk
arounds, maybe even in the same place once or twice. Link became
so frusterated that he started to cut through the bushes with
a dagger he found in order to make a straightaway path to the
Master sword. Link was just about to slice through the bush wall
of a dead end when suddenly-"PLEASE! DON'T KILL ME!!!"
something cried. "Link looked everywhere to find where the
voice came from. He went to cut the bush again when they cry
came out once more. The bush then grabbed the dagger from Link's
hand, and threw it to the ground. Link's eyes went wide as the
bush motioned for him to come closer. Link came toward the dead
end and the bushes started to shout murderous cries at him. "Why
do you hurt us?" asked a tiny bush, at the side of Link's
feet asked. "Uh, I...." Link started. "Okay everyone!
Calm down!" the bush yelled. The forest went silent. "Now,
my boy, what were your intentions of cutting us all may I ask?".
"Well, I came to retrieve the Master Sword, and I needed
to get through somehow." he told the bush. The forest roared
with laughter. "The Master Sword?!" they all laughed
"This wimpy kid is trying to retrieve the master sword!".
"Are you doing this for the lust of greed?" the bushed
asked. "Oh no!" Link told him. "I'm the chosen
Hero of Time. I've come to save Hyrule from Zerel." The
forest gasped form amazement of this young boy. "Hmm.."
The bush murmured. "Quite well put." "But what
are you?" Link asked "Why do you speak to me?".
"We are the people who came for the Master Sword with greed.
We have been cursed by the Master Sword for our greed. Only the
chosen one may handle the Master Sword. Then fight in the veil
of death." "Shush! Matika!" The bush shouted at
the other, "Do not frighten the young man with your tale
of trickery!" "Please," Link apoligized, "I
am sorry for what I have done to the others in this forest. But
please, help me find the Master Sword, and I shall set you all
free." After a few quick murmurs of the forest the desicion
came. "Agreed." replied the bush. "We will guide
you the Master Sword."
"You must
go to the forest labarinth. At the end of this maze you will
find the Sacred Sword. Just follow your heart... alun."
Link emmediatley recognized the first word of Sahjuil's song.
Link ran through the corridors of hedges as if his feet had wings.
As he sang the song new paths through the bushes opeaned. These
mystical words could reveal new passages in the enignmatic maze.
The feeling was so odd, it was as if Link where being guided
by the ancient spirits that inhabite the maze itself. Finally
Link reached a hollow in the bushes. Link was about to push aside
the long willows that blocked the next passage, but before he
could the willows formed a face. "If thou can overcome thee
hardships in the Labarinth you can claim the legendary sword."
Link relised that he had solved the maze through the help of
the pendant that Sahjuil gave him. Link pushed the willows back.
He looked dumbly at the stone wall. That was it. "JIPPED!"
he said to himself. Then he noticed a small ind! entation in
the rock face. Link took the pendant from aroound his neck and
placed it in the indentation. as he did the rock slid to the
side to reveal a long chamber. There were long iscriptions on
the walls. Link read them aloud. "The monster who dwells
in this labarinth is like no other. Not hedge no shrub, not deku
baba, or skulltula. Prepare thyself with the enchanted cloak
to defeat the Weeping Goddess." Link was astounded. Weeping
Goddess? Enchanted Cloak? What could it mean? All Link new was
that there was a door at the end of the room, and behind it there
is sure to be danger!
Danger! Thats
all that went through Link's mind. As he proceded through the
long hall way and got closer to the door, the more he thought
about it the more he was puzzled as to what would become of him
after he had entered. Once he reached the door he took a close
look at the inscriptions. On the side it read, "thee who
enters, must understand the way to see the truth about the master
of the labyrinth end" Labryinth end? It must have some meaning.
Wait! There was more. Link read out the transcriptes in the ancient
language "the one who knows the long remembered musical
notes passed down to the sages of the forest must play the song
and receive the two forgotten tools of the forest labyrinth".
Link immediately knew what he had to do. Saria's song, that was
the key to the final step towards the sacred sword. Link began
to play the song that Saria taught him. The notes were so easy
on his ears. They made him feel more confident to go on but before
he relaxed his mind any longer, a chest appeared behind him.
It had the same type of lettering that Link had seen all along
the paths in the labyrinth. He approached the chest and lifted
the top. Inside he could see nothing but light but he reached
in and grabbed what was inside. He held it up and away from the
light to see what he had recieved. To his eyes it was a cloak,
just a plain green cloak. Link took a hint and put it on thinking
that it was the enchanted cloak. All of a sudden, the door and
the walls were gone and there was just ankle deep water, shining
as though it was made of silver, as far as Link could see. He
looked back but all he could see was just the same silveryness.
Just silver water. He looked up and to his amazement he saw a
clear sky. He stared into the deep blue sky and then noticed
a large black figure falling down towards him.
As the black
figure fell. Link felt a feeling of eagerness. He held his shield
strong in his left hand as he drew his sword from his scabbard.
The silver like water sparkled and made Link blink. In that split
second, the black figure fell upon Link's body. Link felt a black
liquid covering him. His limbs ached with pain as the black liquid
continued to cover him. He dropped his shield and sword and started
pulling at the black liquid. Link tried pulling the black liquid
but nothing happened. He felt a lack of oxygen. Link then remembered
the silver water near him. But where was it? Was it behind him
or infront of him. The liquid was at his stomach and all that
Link could see was blackness. He turned around and jumped forward.
He landed on the hard ground of the room. "Damn!" he
thought. He turned around and started walking in that direction.
He reached the edge of the small pool and fell in. As he fell
into the silver water, the black oil like liquid floated on the
surface. Link opened his eyes and saw the oil like creature above
him.
The creature
was horrific. The black shininng slime that made the creature's
body was more than Link's stomach could handle. Immediately,
Link acted on instinct and picked up his shield and sword before
the creature could reach him. With one lucky strike, Link hit
the creature along what should have been it's face. But it was
hard to tell. The creature was stunned and backed off for a second.
Link then spotted a.. a.. a dagger! He could see the glint of
the blade in the centre of what was the creature. "That
must be the other tool that I read about in the transcripts on
the door," said Link.
He was more than ready now. He reached for his bow and drew one
fire arrow from his sheath and aimed directly at the dagger.
The creature began to move very discretely towards him. Link
calmly said, "thanks for helping me see you better."
And than he released the arrow from the bow. The creature was
thrown back by the strength of the flame and than melted into
complete nothingness. Only the dagger remained, refracting the
silver water. It looked bent and larger than it was, but Link
knew it was only the tricks of the silvery water. Link once again
acted on instinct and reached for it.
"Link!
Are you okay?". Link turned to find Sahjuil beside him.
Lingo went to attack Sahjuil. She pulled out her invisble cloak,
and disappeared. "Who was that?" Link said, puzzled.
"I don't know," Mangu told him, "But I'd better
get you some medicine before you lose your memory for good!".
"Uhm...I must've lost some of my memory, do you think you
could help me?". Mangu laughed. "This is pretty bad!......."
Mangu's voice trailed off.......Link looked down at the Medallion.
He could hear familiar sounds of music, and a song........."Alun........".
"Hey!" Mangu startled him, "Are you coming or
what?". "Where? no - I'll be fine," Link told
her, "I'll still be here when you return......I won't move
from this very spot." Mangu looked at him, and shook her
head. "No," she told him, "I still think you should
come, but I won't push you to do anything. You're in no state
of moving though, but you could get lost quite easily...."
Mangu paused, thinking of a solution. "My house is just
through those bushes, okay? Just up the mountain." "Mountain?"
Link questioned. "Yeah, you know, a big pile of rocks all
made into a hill and stuff," she said. "But I'll be
back in no time at all, all right?" Link pondered, and thought
of the word, 'Mountain'... ".......Yeah..., yeah, okay.
I'll still be here." Link told her. After she left, along
with her 'goo' friend, Lingo. Link sat down and queried the whole
thought of his mission...."What am I doing here?" he
thought. Sahjuil returned. She walked to! ward him, as if not
to startle him. Like she did the first time. "Link?"
he drew his sword as fast as she spoke. "No. No...,"
Sahjuil shook her head, "....I'm not here to fight."
she spoke calmly. Link remembered the voice, but he couldn't
place it. He heard the song again.....'alun'. He eased his sword,
yet gripped it tightly. "What do you want?" he asked
her. Sahjuil feared for the worst. "You.....you don't remember?
Me?". Her voice sounded the fear, and Link sensed it. He
couldn't remember. She gulped. She knew what she had to do. She
closed her eyes. Link watched her as she removed the headband
from across her forehead. The light that shone from the encrypted
jewel was so bright and pure, Link was no longer frightened.
It was as if instinct told him to give in. Link closed his eyes,
and saw the pure light in his mind. Sahjuil was transferring
part of her select memory to his own. He saw the spectacle. His
mission. The Master Sword. The light left. Link looked to Sahjuil.
He remembered! He could remember everything now! Zelda, Helen.....Zerel...and
Gannon. He blinked, and rubbed his eyes thuroughly. "Sah,
Sah......Sahjuil?" She heaved a sigh of relief. "You're
okay!" She cried. "I've never done that before! It's
something I was taught in my younger years to bring back memory."
"Man, I've got a headache." she told him. She affixed
her headband again. "Yeah, I've got one too!" He told
her. My back still aches, though. "You remember most everything
now, right?" She asked. "Most of it, I suppose."
"Hey! It's yo! u again!" Link and Sahjuil turned to
find Mangu standing there with the bottle of medicine, along
with Lingo at her side. Lingo came near to Sahjuil, she cringed.
"Don't worry," Mangu told Sahjuil, "He's not vicious."
The creature came closer.....and closer. "There's a different
story behind every person, though." Link snickered. Lingo
started to smell her scent, "Ew," Sahjuil said, disgusted.
"It's like, smelling me!". Mangu laughed. "C'mon
Lingo-here!" The creature took one last look at Sahjuil
with it's 'eye', and returned to Mangu's side. Lingo mimicked
Sahjuil. "Ew! it's smelling me!" it cried. They all
found it humourous. "I never knew he did impressions!"
Sahjuil laughed.
"Enough
jokes today," Link got up. "...Owww! God, my back hurts!"
Everyone's eyes shot at Mangu. After all, she did give him that
hard blow. "Sahjuil, why are you staring? You didn't see
me hit him," Mangu asked her. Sahjuil hesitated and just
shrugged. "I mean, I didn't hit you all THAT hard,"
Mangu walked to Link. "My hands aren't all that strong either.."
Mangu felt Link's backbone. She sensed a crack. I broke his back,
she thought. Oh god...I don't believe it. Nayru help me...What
am I gonna do?! I think my powers increased! I think I was so
pissed off...and so damn stupid that I became even more powerful.
"Mangu, what in the world are you doing?!" Link yelled.
"My back hurts so bad, I can't stand up!" "Link
I broke your back!" Mangu replied. "Mangu, how could
you!" Sahjuil gasped. "Ohhhh...no wonder it hurts so
much!" Link moaned. "I became even stronger!"
Mangu whined. "And I didn't even know I hit that hard! Ohhh..I'm
so freggin'stupid!!" Mangu bursted into tears. "Now
! how are we gonna get outta here?!" Link screamed.
Lingo went toward Link. It wrapped itself around him to bandage
his back. "Lingo," Link said. "What are you doing?"
To answer his question, Lingo turned into a white bandage around
Link's back. "Oh Lingo...You didn't have to..." Link
said. As soon as Mangu saw, she stopped crying. "Lingo..."
She said. "That can only keep the back in place. But that
won't put it back together." "I have an idea,"
Sahjuil said. "Why don't you, Mangu, carry Link by the arms,
back to back, since you hit him so hard." "Let's try
it," Mangu told her. Mangu and Link turned back to back--sitting
down. Their arms linked together. Mangu stood up and bent down.
Link sat back, relaxed. "Comfy back there?" Mangu asked.
"I'm fine back here...Honey," Link grinned. "What?"
Mangu said, not knowing what Link was talking about. "Walk,
sweetheart," Link said. "Whatever," Mangu laughed.
"Aren't you with...Zelda?" "Quit with the love
talk," Sahjuil interupted. "We have to get outta this
maze."
"But
wait!" Link said, " I have to free the bush people
first. I must find the Master Sword in order to continue!".
Suddenly, a small, bizarre creature bounded from the forest exclaiming,
"You're the chosen one whose looking of the master sword?
Thank goodness you came!" Link looked over at a profoundly
odd little guy. "Eipchaw. The name's Eipchaw (pronounced
eepshaw) friend. I've beening looking for you for days on end!
What is your name?" he asked to Link. "Link, and this
is Sahjuil," Link motioned to Sahjuil and she nodded. "And
this is Mangu." Mangu politley smiled, and waved. Lingo
then growled at Link and startled him. "And Lingo!"
Link smiled, "Sorry about that." Lingo gave a smile,
and settled himself down. "Okay, nice to meet you all, very
nice - yes. Link, we need to talk. One on one.". "Uh,
you see Eip," Link told him. "I'm in real bad shape,
I can't move far. My spine is fractured. You're gonna have to
tell me here, or not tell me at all." "Oh." Eipshaw
replied. "I see.....is there any way at all that I can be
of service to you folk?". "If you know anyone who can
repair biological fractures," Mangu told him, "We'd
be awfully grateful." "In fact of matter I do know
someone" he told them, "The only problem is how to
get him there. After that, I can guide you to the Master sword.
We need to get to Lake Hylia though, and that's way out both
of our ways." Link groaned as a flinch of pain hit him.
Sahjuil could almost feel the pain he was going though. "I've
gotta do something about this." Link clenched his teeth.
The pain was beginning to be unbearable. "Link, I....."
Sahjuil stammered. Link looked to her, "Yeah?" he asked.
"I think I may know one way to help you from your pain.
My father told me of a spell once, it is a physical power source
that doesn't heal a wound but eases pain, and -" She stopped.
"What?" he asked. "It's so hard to explain."
She told him. "But do you want me to do this?" It was
as if Link knew everything she wanted to tell him. "Yes,"
Link told her. "Go ahead." Sahjuil sighed, and took
the band from her head once again. "Everyone, step back.
Execpt Link.....Stand up." Her power eminated from the shining
jewel and engulfed Link's pain. A glow of light surrounded the
two, as the factor took place. The light left, and Sahjuil was
gone. "Link?" Link heard Sahjuil, but couldn't see
her. "I'm inside your spirit form. Quickly, you must apprehend
the Master Sword! Go for it! I'll be with you!"..................
Link felt
wobbly at first as he regained his composure, and he felt invigorated
as he stretched. Lingo yelped with joy, and then quieted with
subtle embarrassment. "Link, this spell only works for a
short time, you must retrieve the sword, and then defeat the
weeping goddess!" "Oh!" Links said, surprised.
He had forgotten that he needed to destroy the "Weeping
Goddess", who was shrouded in mystery, to save the shrub
and bush people. "Come!" Eipchaw exclaimed. "No
time to loose!" Link headed back into the sacred glen where
the sword rested. Eipchaw helped him get past the maze again.
Link walked up to the sword, tightened his grip, and pulled with
all his might. The sword didn't budge. He tried again, and received
the same results. "No!" Link cried, sinking to his
knees. "How? Why?" He cried towards the heavens. "Am
I not worthy?" he screamed, pounding his chest, as if the
gods could hear him. Eipchaw started to make a strange chirping
noise that sounded like laughter. In between the creatures giggles
and chirps he said, "No... Sahjuil... is not..... worthy!"
Link realized the fact, and looked dumbly at Eipchaw, and then
the blade. Sahjuil erupted from inside him. Rays of light and
swirling patterns engulfed the meadow as Link was purged of his
friend. Sahjuil stood back as she re-materialized. The Hero of
Time hobbled over to the sword, and clasped his hands around
it. Link closed his eyes and paused, reciting a silent prayer.
Sahjuil's hands started to tremble in anticipation. Link relaxed,
and pulled the sword from the pedestal in one clean swipe, which
sent a metallic "shing" through the woods. He smiled
a blunt smile. "Now let's obliterate the Weeping Goddess
in the Forest Labyrinth!" Sahjuil said, as she once again
dissapeared and joined with Link's Innermost sole.
Link looked
around and blinked his eyes. What was he to do.
He knew that he had a greater mission infront of him and that
was to save Zelda, Helen, maybe Gannon and the rest of Hyrule.
Why was he having to go though all these stupid trials? He didnt
really know, but he wanted answeres. He decided that he was going
to rest for a moment. His feet were hurting badly. It was dark
and they all needed sleep. They stopped in a grove of trees and
layed down.
Almost instantly, Link fell into a sleep. Then he began to dream.
He appered in a dark room. He looked around and saw the room
was filled with mirrors. There was a table in the center of a
room. He went to the table and saw a book entitled "Reflections".
This was Zelda's mothers journal. He looked up from the book
and saw
a reflection of light in the mirror. He went to it and found
a beautiful middle aged woman. "Link" she said "Do
you know who I am????"
He looked at her face and she smiled. It was a smile that only
Zelda could give. BUT it wasnt Zelda. "Are you Zelda's Mom??"
"Yes", she said " So you know my name is Aria"
Link smiled and said "That is so beautiful" "Link,
I know you are very tired, but it was all brought apon you in
vain." she continued "Zerel brought this trial apon
you. Everything that has happened to you was caused by Zerel,
it is not that these events were fake, they were just caused
by Zerel. Every thing Sahjuil said to you is true, but your metting
was caused but Zerel. He wanted to detain you from destroying
him. Please listen carefully, he has finally mobilized Turtle
Rock and it is on its way to Hyrule. There is only one way to
stop it now, and that is to destroy Zerel." Link, looking
a little confused, asked "HOW???" Well, it will not
be easy, but you must go back to death mountain. In the other
realm Zerel has erected a new castle. The portal from Death Mountin
will lead directly to his thrown room. He has decleared himself
king of that realm and this on because he now holds the triforce
in his possesion. HE is now more powerfull that Gannon ever was.
You must stop him now and save Hyrule, and my daughter. The only
thing you need to stop
him is this, which I will give to you. I discovered the secret
to his power but I dont have time to explain. All you have to
do is to get a clean cut on him and send this red crystal in
to his side.
I am giving this crystal for you to use. Once Zerel is defeated
everything that has happend to Hyrule will be destroyed."
"BUT..."Link said but was cut off by Aria "I must
go....my power is week. Leave the others now and flee to the
mountin!" Her reflection faded away and he woke up. The
sun was about to rise. He got up. Looked at Sahjuil and said
bye. He looked down at the ground and saw the red cystal, he
picked it up and left. He felt bad for leaving like
that but it had to be that way.
He went directly to the place where turtle rock used to stand
and looked down at the portal. HE was about to go in when the
Sky became a dark purple color. HE looked up at the Sky and say
a Z for in the clouds. "Link, where are you. Its Sahjuil"
she said telepathicly. "Zelda's mom came to me in a dream",
Link said, "I am on my way to destroy Zerel, I have the
only thing now that can defeat him." "Link..."
she said "Are you sure?? If you are good
luck. I have to go, my power is fading......" "I'm
sorry" Link said. He turned back to the portal and jumped
in. He landed he looked up and saw Zerel. His big ugly face nearly
made Link
puke! Link stood up and looked behind him, a guard was bringing
Zelda and Helen into the room. "LINK!!!" Zelda shouted.
Link smiled as if he was about to kick some serious butt. He
turned around to Zerel. Zerel got up off of he throne and spoke
"Link, you have come here to defeat me? Why? Dont you belive
in revenge? That is my purpose here. Its to take revenge on HYULE
for the imporsonment.
And my wrath is going to start with you....." HE thru his
cape off and lunged towards Link. He dodged Zerel's attack and
swond the master sword right into Zerel's side. "Mortal"
Zerel screamed in pain, "Do you think that will stop me???"
"No, I dont." Link screamed "but I bet this will."
He pulled the crystal out of his pouch and jammed it into Zerel's
side. He screamed in agony. The gaurd that was with Zelda ran
to Zerel and began to fight Link as Zerel tried to get the crystal
out. Behing the throne was the triforce and it began to glow
as Zerel's pain increased. It was sending power to him since
Zerel was the triforce's master now. Zelda knew
what to do. She ran as hard as possible to Zerel's throne. She
reached the throne and touched the triforce. The power came over
her and the room filled with light. Aria (Zelda's mom) had told
Zelda what she gave Link. The red crystal had the power of love
hidden inside of it. Zelda with all her power fromt the triforce
concentrated it on the red crystal. Link Defeated the guard and
ran to Zelda's side...as did Helen. "Link, with a final
blow, strike Zerel with the Master sword" Zelda commanded.
HE did as he was told and Zerel burst into a ball of light and
then shattered into a thousand pieces. The castle bagan to shake.
It was colapsing because of the power of good that now existed
in the realm because of the triforce being in Zelda's possesion.
"Quick, we have to get back to Hyrule" Link shouted.
The all headed for the portal and went in. As they returned to
Hyrule the sky was turng normal.
In fact they didn't realize it until the looked down, but they
were standing on Turtle Rock. IT was back in place. "Thanks
for saving my kingdom Link." Zelda said. "No problem,
it wasnt hard at all!" Link smiled and they all laughed
With the triforce
Zelda now raigned over the kingdom. With it brought an abundace
of peace. But what happend to Gannon? He was left in the other
realm, maybe we wont hear from him for a while!
