The Legend of Zelda:
The terror of the Triforce

It's raining. A storm has settled over hyrule. At 3:00 in the afternoon it was like night time. It was pitch black in Hyrule. The rain was coming down hard. All around the country side people were safe and warm in there house. At the castle, every one was sitting around not really doing a whole lot.

"Link," Zelda said. "Do you think we will have anymore problems in the future? Like, anymore evil?"

"Zelda," He replied "Don't even ask me that question!"

He smiled. He was really just playfully kidding. Link had just been through uso many battles. He has went through Gannon and Zerel. He wanted no more fights. Even though there was a storm in Hyrule, things seemed rather peaceful.
That's not normal though. Outside the castle walls was an old man. He had a bag on his shoulders. He came to the gate and tried find a way in but he couldnt.

"Help!!" The man screamed, "I have the tri-force!!!"

One of the guards came out to him and ushered him in the castle. As soon as he came in the gates he fell to his knees and his bag fell to the ground. Then the bag opened.....

The guard's eye's widened as he watched a scroll, three small gems, and an oddly shaped key tumble out of the worn burlap sack. Instead of helping the old man to his feet he kneeled down and frantically looked in the bag to see if the sacred triangles where housed within. Just then another guard ran up to him. "What do you think your doing!?" he screamed, pushing the other soldier aside. "Help the man up! Can't you see he is mortally wounded!?" The guards both helped the man too his feet, and supported him as best they could while taking him into the palace.

In a twirl of her skirts Zelda left the room, responding to the chime that signaled an emergency was at hand. Link followed her down the marble stairs and into the throne room where she sat on her father's jewel encrusted chair. "Your Majesty," One of the soldiers addressed Zelda, "A man claiming he has the Tri-Force would like an audience with you." "Bring him in." Zelda replied, rubbing her brow. The man hobbled in on a cane. He brushed the guard's hand away. "I don't need YOUR help." He said coldly. He took off his hood, and spat on his hand. He slicked his gray hair down with it; Zelda cringed at the site. He kneeled before her. "Zelda," He said. Zelda's face grew red. Did he not know how to address the Princess of all Hyrule? "I come from the Valley of Exile. I admit, I do not have the Tri-Force (Cough, cough) I acted that way so I could speak with the king." "He is at the fronts. His troops are stopping a small rebellion." The old man frowned. "Oh Nooo!" He said as he grasped his side. "Noo!"
"The scroll, the gems, and the wyvern key. They are the secrets to unlocking the binding force. You must go to the Valley of Exile. There you must enter the four towers to claim the Tri-force. There are four guardians who protect those towers. (Cough cough) The Courage tower is protected by the pyromatic fire deity: Inferno. The Wisdom tower is protected by the Daughter of Darkness: Silhouette. The tower of Power is protected by the Insidious Telekinetic Mistress: Vertigo. The three woman's master protects the tower of the Tri-Force; His name is Aaaaaaaaaaaagh!" He screamed as his body went limp and his eyes rolled back in his head.

Zelda started to cry. "Wyvern means dragon." Link said, pondering what exactly the man had meant. The guards took the body away, as Zelda cried some more. Link embraced Zelda to comfort her. "Don't worry." he said, but Zelda pulled away. Link looked astonished as she spoke. "After we defeated Zerel the Tri-Force was never recovered." "Bu.." Link started. "No, it was never found! My father having it was all a masquerade! That man knew how to get it, and he gave us the necessary items. We must get the Tri-Force back! But first we have to destroy the three women he spoke of. Inferno, Silhouette, and Vertigo. Link Link!" Zelda became light headed. She felt as if the world around her was spinning, and then all went dark.

"Zelda!", Link shouted as Zelda collapsed. "Somebody help her!". "Calm down Link", soothed the king. "She has only fainted." The king pointed to one of his guards. "Dalt, take her to her room where she will recover." Dalt took Zelda in his arms and walked out the the room. The king turned to Link. "Well, you've got a busy schedule. There's an important meeting tomorrow that you must attend, and..."
"Don't you believe the man?" Link interrupted. The king looked surprised and then indignant. "Link, you still need to learn about proper manners; but yes, you're right. I don't believe him." Link settled down as the King told him the rest of what he had to do in the next few days. Inside, however, he was plotting on how to steal out of the castle with Zelda and go after the Triforce.
Nightfall came. Link looked out of the window watching the guards and studying their movements. Zelda walked in. "Link, we don't have all night" Link turned to Zelda, "Zelda, if we get caught by those guards, we won't be able to get the Triforce, AND we'll be in trouble." Zelda thought about that. Link saw his chance, finally. "Come on, Zelda, now's our chance! Let's get out of here!"

Link and Zelda quietly slipped out of the castle through the eastern cisterns and headed for town. The downpour had waned in the evening hours, but the night was still damp enough to make the guards just disgruntled enough as to not notice the two figures running through the streets.

After raiding his secret cache of supplies in the Temple of Time, the well-outfitted pair headed out of town through a system of tunnels stretching beneath the town moat. Exiting from the north side of town, Link paused under a tree to study his map in the dim light cast by the
lantern Zelda carried.

"The Valley of Exile is a long distance to the north through the Kolan Mountains." he said. "First, we'll have to head through the mountains here," he said, gesturing, "at the Kyper pass, then northeast through the Argand plains. It won't be an easy journey, and we may have some
trouble at the Gate of Wanderers which leads to the valley itself.
Legend has it that the gate is guarded by a spirit who allows only the exiles in, and lets no one out."

"Well," Zelda replied, "the old man got through the gate, and so will we. You've been faced with worse before link."

Link smiled, thinking about his previous adventures. "True. I'm up for the challenge if you are."

As the two headed along the northern path, lightning flared across the sky, illuminating a tall shadow in their path. Zelda jumped, and Link pulled his trusty sword from its sheath. "Who goes there?" He cried.

Another blast of lightning from behind them revealed a lanky, black-bearded man with dark olive skin and blue eyes, draped in a black tunic. He spoke, unsmiling: "I am the light wizard Ur-Gannon. But don't let the name frighten you, Link, for it has been prophecised that you
will not succeed without me."

" How do you know?" Link asked, still keeping his sword in a defensive position.
" I am from the Golden Land. I used to be Gannon's right hand, before I betrayed and gave classified information to Light-worlders. Gannon then trapped me in this form and banished me from his court." Ur-Gannon said.
" Then how do you claim yourself as a light wizard?" Zelda pointed out.
" A man named Rauru..." he couldn't finish as Link screamed at him.
" You know Rauru? The sage of light?"
" As a matter of fact I do. He was the one who gave me the light powers, assigned me as the seventh sage, and gave me this mission. He gave me all of the backround information on you and Zelda." he replied.
" Oh! I remember you! You were that guy who almost killed me when I had to lock Gannon and retrieve all three triforces. We always called you 'Ur'." Link recalled.
" Ah yes. I remember. That sword was painful. When you are stabbed, you never forget it, ever." Ur recalled.
" Excuse me, sorry to interrupt. But wern't you going to tell us why we wouldn't succeed without you." Zelda said with grief.
" Oh. The Valley of Exile is a rough, and evil country ruled by a very dangerous band of monsters called the Circle of Shadows." Ur explained.
" And that means...what?" Link asked, getting a little cocky.
" You do not understand. They are extreamely dangerous. No one who confronted them survived even one battle." Ur explained.
" Oh Link can. If he can defeat Gannon, he can waste a band of ruthless weasels like them." Zelda said, defending Link's honor.
" Not these. Every person in the circle is almost as bad as Gannon himself." Ur warned.
" I doubt it! There is no such thing as a soldier that powerful." Link claimed.
" Oh but you are very wrong my friend." Ur claimed.
" Get to the point!" Zelda demanded.
" I am saying that first off, you need me to navigate you through the Valley. And second, I can help you defeat the four guardians." Ur said.
" And you think I can't defeat them myself?" Link asked, while sheathing his sword and folding his arms.
" Yes. It is virtually impossible! Not even with the Light Arrow." Ur
finished.
" Ok. I get the point. You can come along. But you will only help you if I absolutely need it." Link said as he retrieved his map he dropped before.
" I guess I'll be helping alot then." Ur said.

The three travelers finally made it to Kyper Pass, exausted and weary.
Link suggested to sleep in a little overpass cut in the rock. As they laid down into the soft earth, creatures watched as they landed in the mountains. Much chatter was going on between each of them.
" Ah! There is the spy and the two Hylians. I feel sorry for Gordoll."
one of the creatures said.
" I don't! I'm glad that he has to stay with those filthy, smelly creatures." the other replied.
" Jouge! He is our master, and creator! If you despise him, I can tell!
And he'll destroy you in the blink of an eye." the first said.
" I don't care! I just want to hurt him. And If you tell..." the second
threatened.
" Ok! I get the picture. We better report back to Vertigo before she gets mad like last time. I don't think she'll deal with us again." the first one finished as he flapped his twin pairs of wings and flew off into the black of night.
" Hey! Wait up! She didn't want only one of us to arrive! She want's both of us!" the second said as he frantically tried to catch up. The two didn't know that the mysterious Ur-Gannon was the evil spy of Vertigo, the Insidious Telekinetic Mistress. So far, Vertigo would be proud of her minions for Ur-Gannon is succeeding in her latest plan: to destroy Link and Zelda from the inside-out!

-over a forest on the other side of Lake Hylia-

"Hey Moron!!" Yelled Jugar to Jouge "If you don't keep your butt out of my face when you are flying I am going to..."

Before Jugar could finish his sentance Jouge decided to stop flying and Jurar ran right into him. They fell to the ground with a loud crash...it even woke up a local resident of the forest (The forest of the Dragon) who went out to check out the disturbance. It was a small
girl. She went over to a bush and hid there ans watched the pair of monster quarell.

"Listen Jugar," Jouge exclaimed "YOu are not the boss...Vertigo is, and besides I would be the boss if there was one, I have more brains...and I look better too."

"What??!!" Jugar retaliated "If you are not carefull, I will go back to Link and Zelda, and well..lets just say he could take care of you!"

The caught the attention of the girl.

"OKay, lets get back to Virtigo, SHe is probably ready to destroy Zelda and Link as we speak" said Jouge. Jugar agreed and they flew off from the forest. The little girl looked around. She became very worried, but, she looked up to the moon, and a dragon flew across the sky.

"Hey.....Quazar!!!!" The girl yelled. "That stupid Dragon!! COME HERE!!! I have got to find Link and Zelda"

Quazar grunted, and then obeyed the girl. "I wonder where we should start," she wondered "They could be anywhere!"

The girl, whose name was Helen, decided to search the Hyrule Castle Market Place for Link and Zelda first, but first she left her dragon far outside of the city so that no one would notice Quazar.

"Excuse me," Helen asked a man "where is Link and Zelda?" The man just smiled at her and walked off. "Gee, what a big help you were!" Helen muttered under her breath.

Helen decided that eavesdropping was the only way that she would find out anything. She walked over to a promising trio and waited, appearing to be interested in some apples.

"The king has REAL guts, closing the gates to visitors like that!" growled one man. "Yeah, especially when he claims to be one of the best kings ever!" agreed another man. Helen had just about decided that these people weren't going to help her when she finally heard what she had been listening for. "I don't blame Link and Zelda for running after the triforce like that, the way the king has been. It serves him right! I'd bet that they are already to Kyper Pass or beyond! Although I hope for their sake that the triforce really is at the Valley of Exile." said the third man.

Helen ran out of the Market Place and over to Quazar. "Come on! I know where Link and Zelda are now and where they are going!" Helen shouted energetically. "Lets go to Kyper pass!" The dragon took a running start and flew up into the air.

In about an hour, they reached Kyper Pass. "I can see them from here, lets head over there!" Helen said.

Ur was rather pleased with how he got into the group with Link and Zelda. Then he noticed Quazar and Helen flying directly towards them.

"Not her!" Ur thought. Ur's mind raced. "Link, look a dragon!" Ur shouted. Link turned around. "That is Maria, she is of the Circle of Shadows. She is a dragon rider! Quick, use your light arrows, and I'll throw some lightning bolts!" Link took out his light arrows; but before he fired, Link reconized the rider of the dragon.

"Wait a minute, Ur, I think that that is H----" Before Link, could finish, Ur threw a lightning bolt directly at Quazar and hit. The dragon crashed to the ground and Helen was catapulted towards the group. Helen was still alive and conscious although bruised.

"I thought that that was Helen!" Link shouted in recognition. "Link, Maria is also a shape changer, she is trying to trick you." Ur said.
"Link... Vertigo knows of your whereabouts." Helen said, and then she noticed Ur. "Hey... that's Gordoll, " Helen shouted "He works for Vertigo!" Ur cursed under his breath. "Link, don't believe her, she is very dangerous!" he said again.

"She is a master of deceite. Trust me!" The sound of urgency in Ur-Gannons voice drove link into action. He grabbed the bow of his back and noched alight arrow. Link took aim at Helen.
Zelda looking on with a sense of horror gasped as Link got ready to kill a friend on the word of a man they barely knew. Then, in one swift motion, Link stood and aimed the arow directly at Ur-Gannons heart.
"I don't know who you really are or what you are doing here, butt we're about to find out." Link released the arrow, and Ur gannon came crashing to the ground. All at once the spell that kept his thoughts, and Virtigo's plans secret, faded.
"Link! we have to get out of here quickly!"
"HA HA HA!!! I WAS NOT JOKING WHEN I SAID IT WAS PROPHISIED THAT YOU WOULD NOT SUCCEED WITHOUT ME!!!." Gordoll was now floating about two feet off the ground.
"He is telling the truth Link.", Zelda reluctantly voulenteered. "He cannot lie to us any more. Your Light Arrow has taken away almost all of his power!"
"Good", Link said, notching another arrow, "'cause it's time we got some answers."

"What is Vertigo planning?" Link demanded. Gordoll stared with an evil grin.
"Why! The destruction of you and Zelda of course. You will not succeed. Ha Ha Ha Ha haaaaa!"
At that moment there was a flash of light followed by a low-pitched boom that shook the land. "Gordoll! You dare fail and betray me! You are a fool! And I will not be in the presense of fools!" With that there was another flash and low-pitched boom.
"AAAAAAUUUUGGGGHHHHH!" screamed Gordoll, as his body shook and faded. With a final flash, he disappeared. Then things were as they were.
"What the...." Link gasped as he lowered his bow.
"Vertigo, she banished him!" Zelda said."Gordoll has been vaporized from our plain of reality."
"Vaporized?!?!?!?" Helen questioned."You mean, as in no longer in existance?"
"What does it matter!" Link countered," he lead an evil life. He deserved his fate!" With that the three moved on towards the Gate of the Exiles. They walked for several miles in the blazing sun. They came to rest at the Mystical Springs.
"I am so thirsty!" Helen said.
"Yes, as am I" Zelda agreed.
"So now where do we go?" Helen asked Link.
"Unfortunatly," Link said," I am not sure."
"Well..." A mysterious voice said,"that could be a problem, couldn't
it!"
Link jumped up and unsheathed his sword in defense. "Who is there!"
"Relax, for I am a friend." A man arose from the darkness and entered the light. He wore a dark blue robe and carried a long wooden staff with a deep blue gem atop it. His face was covered by a hood. He pulled the hood back. His face was very light. His ears were elfin and he had long white hair, but was not old looking. His eyes were blue and the pupils were a blackness that stretched inwards for internity.
"Quinn!" Zelda shouted."You're alive! But how. I thought all sheikahs had died during the revolution?"
"I survived, with two mortally wounded others. When they died weeks later, I went into hiding fearing persecution by Gannon."
"It's good to see you. But do you know anything of the Tri-force and the 4 towers?"

Written by: Acquiasis
Acquiasis@yahoo.com

"Why, Zelda" Quinn smilled, "You know better than that...of course I know."

Quinn took his hand and ran it through his hair and looked at the three.
Link was looking very tiered, and really worn out, Zelda's hair was matted and not looking like a princess, and Helen, well, she was a little sprite girl with out her dragon. They were definatly not ready for a battle with anyone. Quinn figured he should help them out and
equip them.

"Zelda," he said "If you dont mind, I want to help, in fact, I want to prepare you for the worst, because, trust me.......it will be bad"

Helen looked up at Zelda. She was scared. She missed Quazar, her dragon. Zelda looked at Link and grinned. She knew she wasnt ready for battle and Link wasn't either. Link turned and looked to Quinn and said, "What can you do?"

Quinn just smiled and said, "Follow me."

Well, the trio did so, really, they had no choice. Zelda knew Quinn, it was Impa's husband, who was supposed to be dead. Why has he not went back to her. Impa has missed him badly. She also knew Quinn's powers too. What did he have in mind Zelda wondered. Helen stopped from behind them and yelled at the top of her lungs.......

"QUAZAR!!!!!" She looked to the sky and saw no dragon. A tear rolled down her cheaks and she ran back to the group. Zelda put her hand on Helen's face to wipe away the tear.

-Link, Zelda, Helen and Quinn are along the entrance to the Valley of Exil where the 4 towers are. The area around then is very rocky-

"We must take cover" Quinn stated "it is going to be a bad storm soon."

Link loked up at the sky a little perplexed. There wasn't a cloud in the sky. He turned back to Zelda and looked at her as if she had some sort of explanation. She didn't. She just smailled and pushed him alog the way. Link looked back up front to Quinn and saw that he had stopped a little further up ahead from them. He took his staff, held it to the air and comanded a rock to turn in to a cave so they could find shelter. With a single word it did so. Quinn looked back at them and as he did so, the wind picked up and clouds rolled in. He yelled to them

"Quick, we must take cover now. Storms in the Valley of Exile are terrible. Quickly!!!"

Helen, Zelda and Link ran for the cave and as the all entered ran began to flood the whole valley.

"Quinn," Zelda began "thank you for your help. I can't begin to say how I am in debt to you. I owe you so much. YOU have helped my family for so many years and now you came to help me." She paused as if she was about to cry...."Thank you." Quinn looked at her and smiled,

" I think I need to tell you a story. Will you sit and listen, your going no where in this storm."

The three agreed and Quinn began to dispense his story......

"Long ago, oh, I would say, about 200 years ago, I was born. Before you all begin to ask why I am not dead, I will tell you. I am a Sheika, but not an ordinary one. I was on, selected by the triforce, to gaurd the royal family and all who come in contact with them. Well, that is an enourmous task, but someone has to do it. Hence the reason I am here. TO help you. Why the triforce selected me I have no idea, but I like it. I have became an eternal being. I have been given some great powers, but they are meaningless aganist the power of the triforce. I just have a little of its power. Well, let me move on about your quest. Zelda, your father put on a great masquerade when he said he had teh triforce. In fact, he sort of did. He had me. I gave the King my power. The War of Zerel was all nothing about the triforce. Zerel didnt have it. It was my power in the form of the triforce, but I left when all was returned to normal. Zelda this is confusing, but when you thought I died I didnt. I was

After Quinn's long story the trio went to sleep and slept well, when they woke up Quinn was gone and they were left food to eat and were given their direction scribbled in the sand. "GO NORTH!" They were off to find the triforce now.....

As they exited the cave they found more supplies. There was a note attaced, and Link read.

"I would be remiss not to leave you something that would be of value on your quest, so here are some things and a few more instructions. The triforce is sitting safely in the golden land, so fear not. It safe, for now anyway. This is where your quest comes in. There are 4 towers. They are in the shape of the triforce. The top holds Vertigo, the Left hold Inferno, and the right tower holds Silhouette. You each must go alone to a sepearate tower. IN the
middle is where the three of you will meet again. At the fourth tower. There the one who is tring to find the triforce is there. He has an evil heart. One that can only end in death. Now, I must appoint you your respective towers you will go to. Link, you fight Inferno, because only your strength can match hers. Zelda, you will fight Silhouette for her magic is strong, but yours will be stronger. Helen, you will fight Vertigo, for you have the same powers as she, telekinetic powers, but you can stop time, and you have that to your advantage. Now if you will look at yourselves, you are not ready to go into battle. Your weapons and clothes will not work. So I will leave you some new ones. Zelda, your weapon you will carry will be the Arch Bow. The bow is handed down from my family so be carful it is old but it is magical too. YOur powers will be tripled now also.
YOU have any magic at your dissposal, but only the power to summon the elements. Zelda, your clothes need help bad. I cant believe you wore you princess gown here, but you will be given a ladies proper attire when going to battle. Helen, you will be given the dragon claws because you are quick on your feet and very agile. They contain the spirit of Quazar, you lost dragon. Your cloths are fine, but I leave you a leather vest to protect you. Link, you are ready for battle, except for your sword. The master sword is powerful, but it needs to be given the power of light. Light peirces the drakness. The master sword is now 4 times as powerful. Now that you are ready all you need is sleep and direction. Head north and you cant miss the towers. Now go to sleep, eat what I have left you. I am leaving you each a small silver and blue ring to contact me if you need help. Link, you are the leader, keep the pendant I leave close to you. Good luck and sorry I left but we will meet again......Quinn."

Link, Zelda and Helen gathered the things up and started North, trudging through the mud and sludge that was the result of the previous night's violents storm.

"So, have you come up with a way to get past the Gate of Wanderers yet?" asked Zelda.

"I may have something on me that will help," Link replied ysteriously.

Before they could go further, the ground started shaking, then the mud erupted around them as a giant Rubdug comes busting through from the ground.

"GET DOWN!" shouted Link. He was able to throw Zelda out of the way. Most commonly refered to as Burrowers, Rubdugs are huge insect-like carnivors. They have five legs on each side of their huge segmented bodies. No eyes, they rely on sound, but they have large mandibles, making Helen just the right size for a meal.

So the rubdug jumped onto Helen, knocking her to the ground, and sending her Dragon's Claw flying in another direction.
Link got up, reached for his bow, but slipped on the slick mud, dropping the bow. The bow landed by Zelda, who picked it up.
Link tossed her an arrow and she deftly caught it, then notched it. She took careful aim at it as it measured up Helen before it struck it's final blow. She let the arrow fly. And fly it did, imbedding into the forehead of the creature, it's only weak spot. The bug dropped to the ground with a crash.

Helen got up, shaken to her core. Link got up and joined the
two.

"Are you alright, Helen?" asked Link.

"Yes, I'm okay. Shaken, but okay," she answered.

"No thanks to me," Link said in disgust. "I can't believe I did that.
Someone in danger, and I slip when it counts most."

"Hey, don't worry over it, I was there to back you up. It turned out okay," soothed Zelda.

"Yeah, this time. Great shot, too, I'm impressed," said Link.

"Good think father insisted me on taking those archery lessons," she said.

"Good thing you excelled. But, I think we better get going. Burrowers usually travel alone, but I want to be safe. Besides, I want to reach the Gate as soon as possible."

So, off they went, truding along for a while before the came to a hust foggy mist.

"We have to pass through this to get to the gate," said Link. "It will be easy to get lost in, but if we close our eyes and link ourselves together, we should make it through quickly."

Link quickly took some rope from his supplies and tied each of the members
together. Himself in front, Helen in the middle, and Zelda bringing up the rear.

"All we have to do is keep heading North..."

With that, they closed their eyes and proceeded into the mist. After walking long minutes which seemed like days, they finally came out at the end. They opened their eyes and Link untied the rope.

They all looked ahead and before them stood the Gate of Wanderers. Not as grand as one might expect, but large. Beyond it stood the vast Valley of Exile. They started toward it. Upon closer inspection, it looked as if there were no way to open it, or even scale it. Link tried to get closer, but was stopped by a single command.

"Halt," came the voice. Not really loud, but full of authority that could not be denied. A form materialized in front of Link, a spirit.

"I am the Guardian of the Gate of Wanderers," answered the wizened spirit. "None shall pass, other than the Exiles. You do not seemto fit that description."

"Please, we must pass, the safetey of all Hyrule depends upon it," pleaded Zelda.

"You are not and Exile. You cannot pass," said the guardian with authority.

Without speaking, Link reached for the pendant that Quinn left for them and showed it to the Spirit.

"I see. You bear the Pendant of the Exile, which means you could only have recieved it from someone that can travel this Valley.
For those who hold it, an exception is made..."

With that, the Spirit disappeared and a deep rumbling shook the ground. The gate slowly swung open, laying before them the Valley of Exile. One by one, they passed the gate to reach their ultimate destination...

The haze cleared, and as it did, it revealed a whole new place, it felt as if it wasn't Hyrule.
The black mountains that surrounded the valley were astounding.
They seemed to go on up through the heavens and beyond.
There seemed to be no sky, no day or night.
It was only a fiery red, with no sun, nor clouds.
There was total silence.
Only the sound of their heavy breathing could be heard.
It was lifeless except, in the center of the muddy plain stood a large purple flower, gleaming, glistening, with sparks and sparkling with life and energy.
In the far distance, there was the silouette of the 4 towers.
There was a feeling of evil about, which filled their minds with fear.
But, with the decieving surroundings, the group ignored it, and let it consume them, and it teared at their souls, with a stabbing pain.
Link was first to notice this, and cried out in anguish, as he felt it tampering with his soul of gold.
"NOOO!!!" He cried, comanding it to stop, with his pure heart.
The evil wind ceased. Link was too strong for it.
Link knew now that the wind was in search for a weak soul to take over.
One in which it could easily replace.
"Zelda, Helen, don't look at the flower, NOW! TURN AWAY!!" Link yelled, with eyes full of fear and concern.
Zelda looked back, and found herself being snapped out of the daze that consumed her mind.
She then knew. "HELEN!!! DON'T LOOK AT THE FLOWER," Link and Zelda said together, with tears of fear in their eyes.
Helen did not obey them.
Link's mind raced for an idea.
"Helen!!! The Flower is ugly, in fact, it's not there!!! Listen to me Helen, you are not looking at a flower, it is your mind, listen!" Link yelled, with his voice sraining.
"Helen, the flower is a figment of Hell!!! It is not there, listen to me now!!!" Link said, with heart racing, and with a fear of time runing out.
Then, Helen fell, in the mud.
"NOOOOO!" Zelda cried in horror, covering her mouth.
"She's dead!" Zelda cried.
"No, she isn't" replied Link.
"What?" Zelda said, with a tear rolling down her cheek.
"Her soul is gone, and we need to find it. She has to fullfil her destiny. She is alive, but not in her body,"
Link explained.
"So, we need to reunite her soul with her body," Zelda began to understand.
"Yes," Link said nodding.
Suddenly, an old man appeared. He was dressed in a cloak, which had a hood over it.
"Did I hear you say something about a lost soul?" the old man said in his scratchy voice.

"What?!?!?!" Zelda shouted.

"You must have lost a soul, you have a non-inhabited body lying in the mud. Pick that child up!" The man said.

"She is not a child," Link comented as he picked Helen up. "She is a sprite, not a child, and she is here to help us on our quest."

As Link bent over to pick up Helen the pendant around his neck that Quinn gave him fell out of his tunic and dangled around his neck. The man looked at it observing it. When Link picked up Helen she got very ridgid. She cam back to life but she was without her soul. She couldnt talk, and she was very pale and just had a placid lok on her face.

"I see she might need her soul back." The man said as he was perplexed by the pendant. "Excuss me, but where did you get that. You look nothing like Quinn."

"This...."Link started

"How do you know Quinn?" Zelda interupted demanding an answer.

"Um, well, he...he Passes through here a lot. Yes he does! In fact, I do business with him!" The man insited. "Yes, I sell souls. He visits me to buy back souls. I am the soul keeper around her. My name is Dag. Quinn, with his, um...GOOD heart buys back sould all the time if he finds the sould worthy enough."

"Well," Zelda replied "You sound odd, but I trust that Quinn would do such a thing. He is a good elf."

"Hey!" Link cryed "Helen? Has anyone forgot her?"

Dag looked a little perplexed about the whole thing. He really didnt care why these people were here, but he was more concerened about why these people had stuff that only Quinn had. They had the pendant, 3 rings, and Quinn's wepons. How! Quinn was known to him not to be a great guy! He thought that they had defeated Quinn.

"Yes, well, since I see you are a friend of Quinn" He replied "I could do a favor. Here is here soul back but dont loose it again.
They...are...such..valuable....thing......s!"

As he finished his last words he vanished just as Helen returned to normal. She looked up at Zelda, the to Link. She touched her dragon claws and thought of Quazar.

"Helen" Zelda said soothingly "are you okay?"

"Yes, I am" She replied, "A little shooken up, but okay. I saw Quazar when my soul was lost in Exile. He is alive.....and Vertigo has him!"

The group looked up to the towers. It was there destination.

The towers were now easily within sight. They could now distinctly make out the four towers. They were tall and stood out of the ground like dark pillars. There were three that were atleast 30 stories high.
They appeared to form a perfect egui-lateral triangle. And in the center, there stood an even taller tower. Like the other three, it was dark and mysterious. Above the smaller towers were lightning rods, and on the center tower was a dark sphere. Lightning bolts bridged from the rods to the sphere. They arced ever couple seconds or so.
"Wow!" gasped Helen." it's so pretty!"
"Yeah, in a twisted kind of way." added Link.
"Is that (gulp) where the tri-force lies?" Helen questioned.
"Yes, according to Quinn." replied Link.
"Where is the entrance?" Zelda wondered.
"I don't see one." Helen said.
"That might be because you can not see it!" said a voice from behind them.
"Who are you?" Link asked the man in the darkish grey shrouds. One could not see his face, for it was covered by the shade of his hood.
All that could be seen where two blue glowing eyes.
"I am an ancient. One of four who designed these towers. I created the tower of Courage. It is the one closest to us. Vallerga created the tower of Wisdom, Swade created the Tower of Power, and our leader, Quinn, created the tower of the ancients, the center tower. They were
created after the imprisoning war for the sole purpose of housing the great Tri-force. The designs were for the actual tri-force to lay in the central tower of the ancients. There they would then have there powers magnified and transfered to each tower, kind of like how triforce was once transfered and infused to each of it's bearers, Gannon, Zelda and Link. But something terrible happened. Somehow Gannon corrupted the four guardians of each tower. He then some how moved the towers into the Valley of the Exile. We four ancients were
banished and were spared by the guardian of the Gate of Wanderers and were given each a pendant. They enabled us to freely roam the Valley of the Exile, they...... say, what is that around your ne.... It's Quinns pendant! But how! Murderers!
Theifs! You will die for the death of our beloved leader!"
The ancient withdrew his blade and prepared to attack.
"Wait! We are not enemies of Quinn, but rather, friends." Zelda said.
"Do you think that I am stupid. You just say that to save your worthless killing hydes!"

Zelda reacted first. She whipped out her ocarina and started playing.

"Zelda, what are y--", Link began.

"QUIET! Let me hear this song. It sounds familiar..." shouted the ancient.

Zelda continued playing her song which had a sad, melancholy tune which reminded everyone of the revolution that killed most of the shiekahs. Obviously, more than just Quinn had survived, seeing the ancient with his sword drawn in front of them.

When Zelda finished playing, the ancient sighed. "Quinn taught me that song, too. He only taught it to friends. Apparently, you guys must be his friends also. Sorry about this sword here." He put away his sword. "By the way, my name is Volatile. I would really appreciate it if you guys would dispel the evil in those towers. You seem to need to see the doors to get in."

Volatial waved his hands and suddenly the doors were visible. "You must hurry before my magic wears off and the doors become invisible again! Hurry! I would stay and help, but I've got to see what happened to Quinn without the pendant he owned..."

The trio ran to their towers assigned to them by Quinn.

Link opened the door to Inferno's tower. Inside was a small, dark room and some stairs right in front of him going up.

Suddenly, a fireball appeared from the darkest corner of the room.
Link could just barely see Inferno over the glare of the fireball. He whipped out his Master Sword just in time and deflected the fireball back at Inferno. Inferno teleported before the fireball hit her and the fireball exploded on the wall behind where she was standing.

Inside his mind, Inferno started talking to him. "Well, now I know a little bit about how you fight! I'm going to find out all your battle tactics; and then, you won't be able to stop me! By the way, I'm at the top of this tower, bad luck getting there!" Inferno's voice faded
away laughing.

Link gritted his teeth, walked over the stairs, and started to go up.

"WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?"

Link looked up at the source of the voice. It was a stalfos. Or at least he thought it was a stalfos. Inside the stalfos was fire, and the stalfos itself was on fire, but the fire wasn't hurting it. Plus, the stalfos wasn't humanoid, it was dragon shaped. Pulling the name from memory, he recalled this monster to be a stal-dragon.

"It couldn't be, could it?" Link thought to himself. He decided to find out. "Quazar?" Link shouted.

"No, not Quazar. Vertigo has Quazar; and soon, he shall share the same fate as me! Just wait until Helen discovers that she has to fight Quazar! Ha ha ha! But enough chit-chat." And with that, the stal-dragon attacked.

Chapter 18

Link fought quickly, weaving his sword in and out of the stal-dragon's flames until it dropped to the floor, howling in pain.

'What did you mean?' Link cried holding his sword to the dragon's throat.
'What did you mean, Helen must fight Quazar?'

The stal-dragon coughed and turned his head, baring his neck for his death.
Link closed his eyes, not understanding why the dragon would not tell.

'I shall kill you unless you obey my orders!'

'I shall never obey you. You have defeated me, but you will not defeat others. Helen will fight Quazar, and he will kill her, just as Inferno shall kill you. This is not a threat. This is a fact.'

Link was furious. 'I have evaded death every time it has struck me in the face. I have battled a thousand battles and won a thousand more. I shall find the triforce, and I shall take it to Hyrule to the rightful owner.'

The stal-dragon laughed, a rueful and bitter laugh as though something was funny. Before Link could gather his wits, the stal-dragon's flames consumed
it leaving no more than a pile of ashes.

Link thought of Helen and Zelda, wondering if they should group together
and plan their strategy better, prepare themselves for what was to come
when he heard a piercing scream of agony coming from the direction of Zelda's tower.

'Zelda!' he cried, turning for the door. 'Zelda!'

But the door wasn't there. Running up to where it had been, Link pounded his fists against the stone wall. The voice of the ancient filled his mind.

'Your destiny is set Link. Whether the stal-dragon be right or wrong, it can never be changed. Fate brought you this far, and fate will let you win if it is what the Gods have foretold. This door will not open until Inferno is collapsed. Go now. You have no choice.'

'What is my destiny? What is it? Shall I live? What of Zelda and Helen?' he screamed.

'Go now, Link! Go!'

Link hung his head in shame of his outburst and held his Master Sword, running his finger along the blade. 'I shall,' he whispered, and began to run up the stairs.

Chapter 19

Link ran up the stair infront of him with a new found determination. He was
on his way to defeat Inferno.

In Silhouette's tower, Zelda had just entered. The room was dark when she
walked in. By the dim light that was coming in through the door, she could
see nothing other than a platform with a triforce symbol in the middle of
the room. Then, the door shut behind her and all the light was sucked out
of the room. She was in total darkness.

"Well Zelda, we finally meet." A lady spoke.

"Silhouette," Zelda replied, "Come out of the darkness, Now!"

"Zelda, I am not one of your servants that you can command around, I hold
you life in my hand!" The evil mistress said.

Then a bright light filled the room, and above the triforce platform was a
single peice of the triforce, the triforce of wisdom. Beside it was a
beatifull woman, Silhouette. She was dressed in all white with a pendant
around her neck, much like that of the one that Quinn gave Zelda. Zelda
looked up above her and saw that she stood in a hallow tower, it was all one
big room.

"Zelda, let me tell you a little story" Silhouette started, "This is the
triforce of wisdom, I am sure you know, right now it is in my hands. I have
all the wisdom I need, and I know something. You will defeat me. No matter
how I try to fight, I will lose. So, I am going to let you have the
triforce of wisdom, but I will still win. How you ask, when Link and Helen
get their triforces, you 3 will meet in the center tower, and your triforces
will turn on each of you. Why, well, the middle tower will explan every
thing......"

With her last words her figure disappered and Zelda went to get her
triforce. She looked perplexed.

"The Triforce's can't turn on us, we are the Hylian."

She grabed the triforce and left the tower in persuit of answers.

Back in Infirno's tower, Link had reached the top level of his tower and saw
a beatiful woman, Inferno, holding the triforce of courage.

"Do you want this Link?" Inferno asked, "Then let's fight!"

Chapter 20

"I shall gut you like a sea bass!" Inferno screamed, lunging at Link. "Don't flatter yourself!" Link replied as he kicked her in the face. "Ou Wroke Wy Wjaw..." Inferno said as a trickle of blood dripped down her cheek. "o wore chwit - chwat." Inferno said, grasping the Tri-Force of Courage. Inferno's hair started to glow a vibrant ruby red, and her body started to morph. Link was taken by horror as Inferno transformed into a half serpent, half lizard hybrid. She had long arms, which had razor sharp talons on each finger. Inferno's face was that of a cobra. It had stopped bleeding, and as she spread her cobra hood out in an offensive stance she roared "Your courage cannot withstand the power and the might that I, the demon of fire posses!"

Helen looked up into her tower. It spiraled upward for what seemed like forever. The staircase also had countless doors, each with a distinct symbol on it. As she started up the stairs she made a mental not of each. A Tiger, A Shark, A Phoenix, A Dragon, A DRAGON

Chapter 21

Helen knew which door to go to. She knew to go to the door with the Dragon on it. She was drawn to it for some reason. Maybe It was because of Quazar, her lost Dragon.

She got to the door and opened it. What she say she couldn't believe. It
was her dragon and a woman dressed in purple. It was Vertigo, and Helen's
dragon Quazar.

"Dear," Vertigo said "Do you want your Dragon?"

There was no answere from Helen, she just drew here weapons and was ready to fight.

"Well, Helen. Fight your dragon then....defeat him, and you defeat me!" As
Vertigo completed her words, Quazar took flight towards Helen. Helen put up
her gaurd, then saw the pain in her dragon's eyes. He was in pain being
controlled by Vertigo. She droped her weapons on the ground and began to cry. Quazar flew down and was about to attack but turned around.

"Quazar! Attack here!" Vertigo comanded.

Quazar didn't obey. He remembered his real master, Helen and destroyed
Vertigo. As she died Helen picked her self up and went to the triforce of
power. Picked it up got on her dragon and flew trew the roof.

"QUAZAR!! LETS GO TO THE CENTER TOWER! " Helen shouted.

Back to Link.

"I bet I do have more power than you!" Link screamed.

With that his threw his master sword with all has might to the very heart of the beast and killed it instantly. It wasnt much of a fight, but something odd happend. The beast fell apart and from it a small bird flew out of it.

"Man," Link said to himself, "This place gets weider and more strange all the time. That was easy! Why? Quinn said it would be hard to defeat these women. Well..."

"Listen Link!"

"Who is that!" Link questioned

"It is me, the bird. My name is Sarah." she said.

He walked over to the bird. Behing the bird was the triforce of courage. It was almost in his grasp.

"I need to tell you a story Link, so just listen." Sarah started. "The triforce is yours. You need to meet with Zelda and Helen at the center tower now. There you 3 should combine your triforces. Put them together as one. This will open the tower. Inside the tower you will find each of your hearts desires, but be warned, dont be greedy, because everything that you do in that tower will have an opposite effect in Hyrule. Don't let anything happend that you dont want to happen in that tower Link. It might come true...."

With that the bird flew away, Link grabbed his triforce and went to the center tower.

Chapter 22

The central tower was an absolute marvel. The design was astonishing. The large metallic sphere glew with a deep purplish green translucent light. It
was breathtaking. Electricity, if one could call it that, was arcing from the
other three towers. The bolts also were purple with a greenish tint. The ground between the central tower and the other three was lifeless, barren, and cracked. The central tower was much higher than the other three, and unlike them, was made of marble and was in almost perfect condition. There were four doors, each facing a different direction, N, S, W, and E, and were marked with those corresponding letters.
"Which one?" Zelda asked.
"A little bird told me that we would face out greatest desires inside, so I would expect three doors, not four." Link said.
"A liitle bird?"
"Uh, I'll explain later."
"Yeah, you do that."
"Then lets just pick one"
"Alright" Link replied. He turned the handle on the S door. A trap door was
released, but Link quickly leaped away. "OK, lets choose more wisely."
"How about the N door?" Helen suggested. Just then Zelda examined the doors.
They were not in fact actually facing the north, south, east and west, but in fact, three were facing the other three towers. The other door, which did not face a tower had to be the real door. She went to it and it opened.
Inside there was nothing but darkness. And then she saw it. It was her long since dead mother, but how, how could this be. She had died. But here she was.
Link followed her in. He saw Zelda standing mouth wide open. She was staring at a beautiful woman.
"Who is that?" He asked.
"It's my mother."
"What! She died, didn't she?"
"Yes, but here she is." Zelda went to her mother, but before she could reach
her, Link pulled her away.
"What are you doing!" Zelda demanded.
"That is not your mother! If you touch her, something bad will happen, trust
me."
"But....."
"Zelda, it isn't your mother, she died, this isn't her." Suddenly reality returned to her and the mirage that was her mother disappeared. The three regathered and climbed the spiraling stairs. They were each confronted with incredible treasures, each more enticing then the last, but together they overcame them. Finally they reached the top of the tower. There was a large marble door. It had huge golden knobs and looked very heavy. It also was sealed with the emblem of the triforce. And then it hit Zelda, what Quinn had told them. The triforce was kept in the central tower, and it's energy was channeled to the other three towers. She explained to the other three. They put the mock tri-force together. It glowed and levitated in mid-air. It moved to the door and came to rest on the seal. It then glowed even brighter, and with a flash of light, the seal vanished and the door opened.
"So, you have made it. You have surprised me. Your power, persistence and
determination are greater than I thought. No matter. You will not defeat me."
The voice was strong and deep, but familiar. They walked in and saw who it
was.
"No...." Zelda gasped.
"Surprised!" Quinn said." Well, time to die." He laughed a very wicked laugh.

Chapter 23

The three stood, stupified, and seeing their temporary shock, Quinn lunged for Helen. She shrieked and sidestepped, drawing her dragon claws on instinct and slashing them only milliseconds after they were firmly on her hands into Quinn's back.
"AAARRRGHHH!!" shouted the wounded, black figure, and he slumped down into the corner, trying to reach and clutch his wound.
"Quinn!" shouted Zelda. She ran to his side.
"NO! Zelda, stay back!" Link screamed with wide eyes.
"He's not on our side!"
But she ignored him. "Quinn?" She whispered. A look of confusement, fear, and yes, concern, swept her face.
She waited desperately for a response.
And the eyes of Quinn travelled to hers, and she looked into them, red and maddened with hate and confusion. And he looked into hers, her eyes of the
sky and the sea. and for a second, it was as if he was released from a spell, purified by Zelda's heart. but only one second after, he drew a dagger and raised his arm to plunge it deep into Zelda's chest.
"NO!!"
And Link, who had been more tense than he'd ever been in his life while Zelda had been so close and vulnerable to someone who wanted so badly to destroy
her, lept with all his strength and took hold of the princess's arms and pushed her away before the blade reached her, pushed with all his strength and soul.
And she was safe, away from the danger, but her safety didn't prevent the dagger from continuing in it's path.

"NOO!!" shouted Helen, as she saw the figure of the Hero of Time fall at Quinn's knees, with a knife in his chest. She jumped like a wildcat, clawing and biting, doing anything to rip Quinn apart, until he fell back stunned and wounded. Zelda got up, shaking and shocked, and ran to Link. Helen, her fear for Link overcoming her fear of Quinn, ran to his side as well.
Zelda pressed her shaky fingers against his wrist, his neck. she didn't find what she was looking for.
"He's dead..."
And before either could react, a brilliant flash of light blinded them all. And once the light left, a woman appeared. She had a black, stiff look, and had obviously seen many a fight. She had strong arms and legs, thick hair tied crudely back, and a strong, hard face. But her eyes were soft and gentle, the color of the clouds. And they travelled from Helen and Zelda's drained, colorless look, to Link's still form with the knife in his back, and then to Quinn, staring at her from the floor he had been thrown against. He was the
first to speak.
"Impa?"

"Quinn" Impa said in utter disgust, "How dare you do what you have done!
You took the trust of the Royal Family, JUST TO GET THE POWER!! The gods gave you a special Power. You were given the power to do things that even I cant do. You are a disgrace to the Sheikas! I can't beilive this. How dare you!"

Quinn stood to his feet. He looked at Impa. She knew what was about to happen. She dropped he cloak and pulled out her sword. Quinn prepared for battle. Then Quinn got up and raised his staff. The jewel on the top of the staff began to glow. The mock-triforces that the three heros had opened the door came to Quinn.

"Triforce...come to me!" Quinn commanded.

"Hey," Helen said ignorantly "those are Fake. They have to be. The ones that the 3 mistresses gave us were fake. You said the triforce was here...in this tower!"

"Yes you dumb sprite," Quinn retaliated "They are here, now! You broght them too me. I came to get the power of these triangles. It was ment for only me...I am like a god......."

He voice echoed through out the tower. The power of the triforce filled the place. Impa could fell it would be a hard battle, but she could do something.

Impa raised her hand to the sky and said..........

"For it is writen:

All things Living and dead
shall all rise
from the earth and the skies
when the triforce is said
to be at the hand
of the one who is like a god
and tries to control our land.

Only will this occur
when the hero has fallen
the one who our gods have callen
shall rise up again
then peace shall reign once again."

"Where did you here that foolish poem Impa? " Quinn bosted "I am a god, am
THE god!!!!!!"

He raised his staff and the triforce too. A light from the heavens shown through the land and down to the temple. The light traveld through the room
and straigt to............

Link.

His body rose to the air and floted around. Everyone looked in amazement.
All the spirts of every living and decesed creature came to breath life back into Link. The Light carried him to the ground and put him on his feet. He had been restored, and felt like brand new. The lighthad soon vanished and reveled its changes, and power to Link and all of Hyrule. He looked above him and saw the triforce hovering above. He looked at his gloves on his hands, they we made of precious jewels. His tunic and cap were no longer green, but silver. This was the color of the gods. This boots were light and swift and he was given speed. He looked at his shield. It had the power to protect him, with out any effort at all. His body was new, he was perfect. He was ready for battle, then he looked at the master sword. It was shining like gold. The power from the sword was coming directly from the triforce. Then he turned to Zelda, she was crying, but not sad, she saw Link like she never had before. He wasnt dead anymore.

Then Link turned to Quinn. No words were spoke, but a battle began. Quinn still had the power that the gods had given him from before. He was still a formidable foe. Impa rush Helen and Zelda close to the door, becuse she knew the battle would be hard. Swords began to clang. Link fought with a new found vigor. He moved faster than Quinn could keep up. Quinn dodged all of Link's attacks some how, then Quinn levetated into the air. He raised his staff to the sky and formed a green ball of pure evil magic. He then propelled it at Link and caught him off gaurd. Link feel again to his knees. Then the triforce glowed a briliant white and shot it down to Link.
He slowly stood up and with the master sword threw the triforces incredible
power of destruction into Quinn. Quinn looked suprised and dropped to the ground.

"Cover your eyes Link!!!!!" Impa yelled as she covered herself, Zelda and Helen.

Link did so and as soon as he did Quinn rose to the sky and exploded.

..............Weeks later......

Impa, Zelda, Helen and Link were in the castle.

"Link," Zelda smiled..."I kind of like your new body!" She winked at him and he began to blush.

"HA!" Helen laughed "Even the Hero of time has weaknesses! The Princess!...............Impa, what about all the things Quinn prophcied to us and the things the mistresses said. Why didnt they come to pass?"

"Well, my little sprite," Impa said "Quinn lied about most every thing. He was right that you 3 would prevail though. Now the women, those were created by his power, they werent real. The terror of this whole thing is he used the triforce against us, and that must never happen again."

"Well," Zelda said playfully "With our new 'super' hero around here, I am sure not much else will happen."

Laughter filled the room and Link turned beat red.
