Link's Worst Nightmare

During a normal day at Hyrule, Link decides to go visit the king and pay his dues. On his way, he hears a strange voice: "I am.....your father" Link stops in his footsteps, and is shocked by the telepathy from what seems like his father. Link only knew his father as a young lad. Then his father went out one day to cut some wood in the Lost Woods and never returned. Some say he was killed, other say he became a hermit. Link decides to go to the wise man in Kariko Village, and ask for advice. On his way, he hears another message: "Help me!!! ..... is going to kill ......" The telepathic message is cut off. Link runs all the way to Kariko Village and tells the wise man what he heard. The Wise Man then says, "To find your answer, go to the triforce and ask it." Unfortunately, the triforce was being displayed at the Hyrule Museum, and no one could use it, and I mean NO ONE. Well, Link thinks for a moment, and then has an idea. He goes to the Museum, and hides ! in there until it is closed. Stumbling in the dark, he notices a yellow glow in the corner of the room. He walks to it and quickly picks it up. He asks what these telepathic messages meant and a mysterious voice answers by saying: "The Lost Woods Is Not Where To Look. Death Mountain Has Your Answer" Link quickly puts up the triforce and climbs out one of the museum's windows. He decides to go home, and sleep. As he gets in his bed, he immediately falls asleep. During his sleep, he has a rather strange dream. He sees a picture of his father, then of Gannon, and then of the princess. Suddenly, he wakes up. It's morning. He quickly goes outside and heads for the castle, to see if Zelda is alright and that Gannon is still in his cell in the dungeon. As he gets to the gate of the Hyrule castle, he sees to guards standing in front of him, blocking his way. "What's the problem?" Link asks. The guards reply w/ this: "Gannon escaped from his jail cell and has taken Zelda. We are not allowed to let anyone in the castle until Zelda has returned." Link, very worried, heads for Death Mountain. As he gets to the base of the mountain, he hears another telepathic message:

"I am in much pain Link, hurry, as it is my only hope!" The telepathic message then ends abruptly. Link begins to run as fast as he can, but then stops to think for a moment. "Who am I saving? My father, or Zelda?" He then decides to go after Zelda. After all, she is the princess of Hyrule, and is of greater importance of all the people in the land of Hyrule combined! But how would he get to Gannon's Domain if the only gateway to the Dark World was smashed in his last confrontation with Gannon? Mabye Death Mountain will hold a clue. So Link steps lively, and goes on. After a long, tiring day, he sets up camp on the rocky cliffs of Death Mountain. In the darkness, however, Link is being watched.

As Link is preparing to start a fire a few pebbles fall down from the cliffs above. He grabs his sword by his side and starts to investigate. More rocks fall down getting bigger every time. Link looks up in the darkness and sees a big boulder tumbling down. He moves out of the way just in time to see his camp smashed. After in all settles he begins to climb up the mountian to see why the boulder fell. "Look behind you!!" Warned the telpathic voice. He turns around and enters a battle with several Moblins. Link of course succesfully defeats them all. He continues up the side of the mountian and finds an empty spot where a boulder was. He looks a little closer and sees a small opening into a cave. There is a small glowing light coming form the whole. He uses a bomb to make the whole wider and he goes in. What he finds is a large round portal that is shinning blue. In the center he sees a reflection of himself. He gets closer and puts his hand up to his reflection!. "Step inside Link." The voice urges. He steps inside and is absorbed by a brilliant light. Then the light begins to darken as an illusion of Gannon appers Laughing.

"HA HA HA HA HA. Foolish mortal you have entered the portal of no return. You shall spend your last pitiful days locked in my deepest realm of terror...unless of course you can prove your worth and join me side by side in my conquest of Hyrule. Step onto the platform in front of you if you wish to accompany me to chaos"
Link looks about him and sees that he is in a cell with no exits at all, even after he has searched the room twice he can find no means of escape. In the centre of the room though is a square block of stone, slightly illuminated by an eeirie light. Link decides that he will join Ganon (yet only to defeat him when he has won his trust) and steps onto the block. Link is consumed by a thick gas and passes out. He awakens in a room full of evil creatures peering at him in disgust with Ganon at their centre.

So, you have decided to join me? Very well, you are wise. However, I will not be so quick to trust you. If you give the slightest thought about betraying me, you and your loved one will die!"
Link follow's Ganon's gaze and turns beind him. He could feel the color drain from his face. There was Zelda, chained to the floor and cloth tied over her mouth. He looked up to find a spiked roof over her head. Her eyes were locked on his, and he could almost feel her fear. Something inside of him snapped, like a bolt of lightning. Link felt the anger rise inside of him, but he had to controll it.
"You must also accompany me in three tasks." Ganon continued. "One is to slip into the Hyrule castle and poision the king using this - "
One of the monsters hands Ganon a glass jar that appears to be filled with wine.
"Your second task is to bring the other six decendants of the wise men and bring them to me. Last, but certainly not least, you must hand over the Triforce."
"Don't do it Link..." Zelda pleads.
Suddenly and idea comes to him. It is not much, but he thinks it might work. "Alright Ganon, you have my word. I shall complete the tasks that you requested." Link says, taking the jar from Ganon's hand. Then, the room fills with Ganon's evil laughter as he is warped into the Light World.

Link finds himself in his bed. Mabye it had been a dream. But the bottle of poison on the table next to him told him otherwise. He immediatley went to work. He took out his magic powder, and spinkled some on the drink. This would make the king appear to be dead, but in reality, he would be alive, hanging on a shread of life. Slipping in the King's quarters, you take a glass, and pour the concoction in it. Suddenly, the king comes in! "Link, what are you doing?" the king questiones you. "Well, I was, I was making a Hyruelian drink, and wanted to see if you liked it," you lie. The king eyes you suspiciously, but then takes the look away and laughs. "Allright Link, I understand. Bottoms up!" He takes a sip of the drink, and then mumbles something. Then, the king crumples to the floor, appearing to be dead. Then, Ganon appaers behind you. He opens up his muscluar jaws, and speaks.

"Ha Ha Ha! You have done well lad. I did not expect you to go through with the task, but I was wrong. Now you must bring me the other six maidens!" Ganon dissappears into the darkness, and Link can hear his evil laughter echo in the halls of the castle. "Link, what have you done to my father?" Zelda demands telepathically. "He is actually alive, Zelda. You see, I used a different poision than the one Ganon gave me. He will be unconsious for a while though." Link explains while sneaking out of the castle. "I understand, but how are you going to trick Ganon into thinking that he has the other six maidens?" "I am going to find six girls that could play the parts of the other six maidens. This is going to take a lot of convincing, however..." "I know! You could ask some of my friends, they are brave and would be glad they could help!" Zelda says. With this new idea, Link heads to the village to search for Zelda's friends.

Zelda uses her thought waves to lead Link towards a small hut on the outskirts of the castle. He enters to find an empty room, yet there is an open book by the window. Reading the last few lines he realises that it is a diary - yet its content is very strange: "...The sun is shining and the clouds are high, away go I, over the fields and past the stream, wings beating I glide above, below, between those clouds on high..." The beating of wings breaks Link's concentration as a white dove flaps in through the window, angrily whipping its feathers at him. "Kreeeagh" It shrieks and then settles on the floor. A bright flash of light blinds Link momentarily only to fade and reveal a beautiful maiden - Ariel of the Woods - looking sternly at our hero. "You have read my diary I see...Well I suppose you must also know that I am no ordinary mortal; I have the power to transform myself into any being I wish - but I love the freedom of the skies the most" "I have been brought here by Princess Zelda of Hyrule.." Link begins, yet Ariel stops him; indicating him to look into the mirror on the wall. What appears to be just a reflection wavers and ripples before becalming to reveal the image of Zelda...

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" Link yells. Ganon knew I would not betray my  people. He wanted to get rid of me. "It is a vision io the future you see link"Ariel said.  "We must save her Ariel, if she dies, well if she dies she will never... Nevermind"Link told Ariel. "Will you help me?" Link asked. "Since Zelda is my friend then I will," with that Link and Ariel jumped into the mirror to confront Ganon.

Ariel jumps into the mirror, but looks tired, and somewhat "faded." She then speakes. "Link, this place is evil. I exist in a world of light, your world. I cannot exist exist here. Even as I speak, I am losing power. Link, please take this. You will need this." She hands him a small pebble. "What?!" Link exclaims. "What can I do with a rock?" Ariel explains, "Hope is the supreme weapon. A rock is as strong as a sword, as long as you believe it is. *cough* *cough*. I must go now. Goodbye, Link." A blinding light sweeps the world. When it subsides, she is gone." Link shouts out, "GANNON! I WILL KILL YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!

"You pathetic soul! You actually think you can beat me?! I give you power, and you reject it! Nobody does that to me, my boy. Evil is the way of life here. The Triforce of Power even sees that now. So what do you have? Courage? Hope? Such trivial things do not matter. Death ends all. You shall soon be seeing what I mean, Link. Nobody has ever challenged me, and seen daylight again. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I spare your life, you insolent brat, because I have the Triforce, all three. So now, I send you to your own personal hell. Evil wins over all, Link. You shall see, you shall see!" Gannon shreiks. "Gannon, DIIIIIEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!" Link yells. He thruts the sword of Evil's Bane into Gannon, and it goes through the other side. "Pain is nothing to someone immortal. But you mortal, you will feel pain like no other has felt before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Gannon screeches. Link blinks out, and teleports to another dimension. Fire is everywhere. Screams of! innocents fill the air. A dark horseman rides up to him, and orders him.

Written by: Ultima9999
dedmunds@mci2000.com

The dark horseman is actually Ironknuckle. "Why are you here, vailiant hero?" Did you betray Gannon after you said you would help him?" Link responded, "Is that how you ended up here?" Ironknuckle sighed. "Link, after you defeated me for the umpteenth time, Gannon got sick and tired of me. He banished me here to realm of hellfire. He told me that since I didn't fulfill his request to stop you from getting the Triforce of Corage, I would be banished from his dark side for years and years to come." "Wow!" said Link. "Do you know, by any chance, how to get out of this rotten place?" "There may be one chance my friendly foe. Gannon only thinks that he has the Triforce of Courage, but he does not. For only one person can be the TRUE owner of the triforce. That person is the one who won it from the Great Palace. That man is YOU Link."
"How am I supposed to use the Triforce to get me out?" Link asked. "That's for you to figure out Link. I have to return to the depths of hellfire where I belong. However, I will hint you on how to get out. 'Love and Hope is the only way to rid evil.' Goodbye young warrior." As Ironknuckle said that, he vanished. Link was thinking over the riddle that Ironknuckle gave him. The Triforce and the riddle somehow intertwined and Link had to figure out how. In Gannon's humbled dark realm within Death Mountain, Zelda was moved to the next lowest basement dungeon. "You'll never get away withnthis you pig faced gremlin!!!" "Oh, but I will princess. The Triforce of Power will help me control Hyrule, now that I have the Triforce of Courage and the Triforce of Wisdom. I have all three triforces to make Hyrule my evil empire!!!!!!!!!!" Zelda laughed sarcastically. "You know something Gannon, you only have two triforces. When you sent Link to the deepest underworld, he got t he power of the Triforce of Courage back into his heart. You cannot triumph without it." "Actually I can take over Hyrule with just Power and Wisdom, but Courage will become mine as soon as Link perishes in hellfire!" Zelda began to lose her smile. Has Gannon finally won? Zelda was beginning to wonder if Link would never be seen again. She began to feel bad because she knew where and who Link's father is.

Zelda's lower lip started to quiver, and a silver tear streaked her beautiful face."Alas," said Ganon,"Link has perished in his fiery grave!" "Now sweet princess, where can Ariel be found?" Zelda was shocked, had Link really died? And what does Ariel have to do with this puzzle? Again Ganon demanded but Zelda was concentrating on something else."My efforts to contact Link have all been in vain, but I will not subjet to your insane wishes!" Ganon tore Zelda out of her chains and threw her against the wall."Pretty princess, Your have no power in my domane of evil! I shall make you reveale the secret of the eye of the triforce!!" Ganon covered his hideous face with his cloven hands. "You have tricked me fair Princess " He said in a voice full of malice. "No, You have betrayed YOURSELF!" Zelda Screamed," The eye of the triforce cannot be recovered!" Zelda felt pain shoot through her body as a wallmaster, at Ganons command, pulled her into the wall. Zelda screamed but no sound was made. She felt like her mind was being torn apart. Blackness soon filled her mind, and Zelda slumped in the powerful hand, unconscious. Consciousnes faded quickly, but only retuned slowly. When she awoke she was lying in a cave.Zelda imediatley understood what had happened. She searched the room quickly, but to no avail. There was nothing to be found, no escape! "Ganon you louse, you cannot get the eye of the triforce!" Zelda screamed. The princess looked again, more closely at the walls. In ancient Hyrulian text, written on the wall where the words (Labarinth). Zelda cried continuasly. She was in one of Ganon's many Labarinths. She fell to the floor, and hurt her knee. As she examined the object which hit her she relised that it might be able to aid in her escape. Zelda dug and dug, finally she held the object up to the light. Zelda smiled! for the the first time in days, because in her hand she held, the magic rod.

After Zelda found the rod, she thought about what she could use it for. She looked it over and over. Then it clicked! "I've seen this rod before, but where?" Zelda seemed puzzled over her problem, but she mindlessly had the staff lean towards the wall. Before she realized what she did, the magic rod blew a hole in the wall. The staff's action made her go into deep thought. "This rod is the key to the deepest parts of the underworld. I wonder if....?" Zelda was most thoughtful. She planned to get Link out of hellfire so they could get back the Triforces of Wisdom and Power. Zelda knew that there was only one way to open the doors to where Link was. She chanted the words to open the dredful place by saying, "I command that the mighty fires of hellfire open the sealed gate, now!!!" As she said those word, a big hole opened up the gate, but she didn't plan on falling in. When she fell, the gate sealed up again, almost immediately. Zelda brushed herself off. "I must f! ind Link, so we can get out of here."
While Zelda began to search for Link, Link himself was wondering where the earthquake came from. "Wherever that earthquake came from, someone must have ben thrown here. Who could it be? It can't be Zelda. Gannon has her tied up as well as the Triforces of Wisdom and Power. Why didn't I just help him? I wouldn't be here and Zelda would be safe by now. However, the Triforce of Courage will give me the strength to find away out of this creepy place." Link began searching for his exit, while Zelda was searching for him. In his lair, Ganon was making preperations to take over Hyrule. "Now with Zelda and Link gone, no one can stop me from destroying Hyrule! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!" The Triforce of Wisdom spoke. "He who heeds the power of evil will always be beaten." "Shut up!! You will listen to what I say. If you have forgotten, if I have both Triforces, I RULE this land." The Triforce of Power spoke up. "Master, I sense that Link and Zelda are not dead. They are both in hellfire." "SO?!?!!?! They will...what?? Zelda in hellfire?? How?" "Well, master..." began the Triforce of Power. "Zelda found a magical rod that can open a portal to wherever she wants to go. However, she does not know that. Not yet anyway." "I will make sure she never does. Moblins! Stalfos! Ghoma! Go to hellfire and destroy Princess Zelda and Link for Good!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Gannon then sent his cronies to hellfire.
In hellfire, Zelda continued her search for Link. Link was searching for the area where the earthquake occurred at. Without knowing, they walked right past one another. Each thought they saw the other, but the shook it off, because of they thought the heat made them see a mirage of the other. Just after they walked by one another, Gannon's troops entered the fray. Zelda let out a huge scream. Link turned around and knew Zelda was there. "I'm coming Zelda!!!!!" When Link arrived the moblins had her surrounded. Link hid behind a rock. "I wish I had my....I do have it. I have my sword." Link stepped out from behind the rock. "Hey goons, wanna piece of me?!?!?!?!!?" Zelda looked up. "Link!!!!!!!!" Link fought off the Stalfos and got to Zelda. "Zelda, are you okay?" "I am Link. I'm just glad to see you. Now, let's get these goons!!" Link and Zelda fought off the rest of the stalfos and moblins. However, their problems weren't over yet. "EEEEEEEKKKKKKKKK!!!!" !
Zelda screamed. "I hate that thing." Link looked at it. "Zelda, do you have a bow and arrow set?" "I do, but...oh, use it in his eye right?" "Yeah, but it'll take three arrows." "Link," Zelda began. "I only have four arrows." "you're going to have to make them count. You can only miss once." Zelda set up her bow and let go an arrow. Ghoma fell back a step. Zelda sent another arrow. ghoma once again fell back. Zelda sent a third arrow, but she fell back from Ghoma's walking charge. "Oh no. Only one left. I hope this works." Zelda sent the last arrow at Ghoma, but it bounced off of his skeletal leg. "Link!!!!" Link looked up. He remembered his shield. Link used his shield and deflected the arrow towards Ghoma. Direct hit!! Ghoma fell back and disappeared. "Zelda, how did you get here?" Link asked. "I used this magic rod. I've seen it before, but I don't remember where." "I do Zelda. It was on display at the museum months ago before it was stolen. ! I think it's the power staff of transport. With it you can go between places. That's how you got here." Zelda replied, "I know how you were sent here. Gannon must have drained the magic rod of some of it's power and combined his magic with the staff's magical power. Thus, sending you here." "Can you use the staff to get us out?" Link asked. Zelda thought and began to chant, "Magic staff open a portal to Hyrule Castle!" The staff produced it's magic and Zelda and Link escaped hellfire.
When the heroes arrived at Hyrule Castle, the King approached Link. "Link, what did you put in my drink?" Zelda intervined, "Dad, it's a very long story. I will tell you as soon as Gannon is defeated. He has the Triforces of Wisdom and Power in his lair." You'd better go get them. I fear that if you don't get them soon, gannon is sure to ttack and attempt to destroy Hyrule's current glory." Zelda and Link looked at each other. Could they sneak into Gannon's lair? If Gannon began an attack now, would they have enough time to get back the Triforces and use all three of them to destroy Gannon once and for all? Only time will tell.

Link grimiced and walked toward the throne room's door, but Zelda held him back " Link, must you go? Can't we send troops instead of endangering you?" "No," Link replied," My fight is with Ganon! I must destroy him." Zelda slumped back onto her throne. Just as Link was about to leave Zelda called out to him." Link, did you find Ariel?" "Yes" Link replied. " Did she do anything strange?" Zelda asked. Now that you mention it she did, when we were transported to the Dark Word she handed me a stone." Zelda ran to Links side, her eyes filled with a glowing link had never see before."Show it to me!" she demanded. " I must see it" Link fumbled round in his pockets, searching for the little stone."NOW" Zelda screamed with an urgency that made Link look faster. He handed it to the princess. Zelda started tword a wall, but the king held her back. "Zelda, we have been told to never...". Zelda pushed by him and procceded to a wall. Inserting the stone into the middle of the small crest of the triforce. The wall slid back, " Nooo!" said the king"The gods have told us to never show Lin.."At that very moment Zelda and the king disappered. Link could still har Zelda's startled scream of terror.Link gaped at thew space where they once stood. He slowly walked into the room. In the room was a statue of three goddesses with a elf slumped at their feet. Link examined the statue several times. "NO" Link wispered under his breath. The elf at the goddesses feet was an exact likness of his father. "To the temple of the gods!" Link screamed for that is where they must have been tacken.Three Godesses filled the room with their radiant presence. "Link," the middle one said in a faraway voice " Do not pursue them, they have recieved their fate, their fate, their..... Fate........" The women disappered in a rush of fire and a swirl of cold wind. Link's mind was set. He would deploy the Hyrulian army to try to defeat Ganon. Then he would venture to the lost hills, where the sun temple can be reached. " I'm coming Zelda" Link thought to himeself."I'm coming!"

Written by: Wall Master
wallmaster@zeldafan.com

Link quickly summoned one of the king's guards. "Where is the king, and Zelda?!" questioned the guard. "I fear I don't know yet. I have met the goddesses of Hyrule, but they have only told me that it is their fate. I must gather the Hyrulian guards and form an army. We must defeat Gannon and find out what has happened to Zelda, the king, and....my father." "Right away sir, I will gather the troops." While Link was waiting for the troops to come, Gannon had already gotten his army ready and was planning to do a surprise attack on the castle. The Triforce Of Power said, "I am afraid I must tell you that you have no chance of defeating Link. He is too powerful. You must find another way. Your army will be defeated." "Shutup, you stupid Triforce. I will win, and when I do, I will have all the pieces of the Triforce and rule over Hyrule!" The Triforce Of Wisdom started, "I fear that Link has summoned an army to come attack, and, you stand no chance." "THAT'S IT!" yelled Gannon. "You IGNORANT pieces of triforce are still on Link's side. I AM GOING TO LOCK YOU UP FOR GOOD." He soon got a giant chest, put the pieces of triforce in it, and kept the key with him.
Meanwhile, Link had already summoned everyone for the battle, and was heading out. Right before he left the castle, he noticed that the magic rod was still there. He quickly picked it up. This was his way to get a surprise attack on Gannon! Still distraught about his father's resemblence in the elf, Link, filled with rage, opened the portal with the magic rod and led the troops in. When they arrived in the dark world, Gannon's army was there....ready for battle. It was time to end the war with Gannon. If Gannon wins, Hyrule is forever doomed. If Links wins, Hyrule can still be saved, hopefully. The battle for Hyrule is about to begin. Who will win?

The two armies stood there. Link stood in front of hid army, while Ganon took shelter behind his. Link raised his sword and charged. The Hyrulian army had the advantage, but Ganon used a sheild spell to strenghten his minions. Now the Dark army was highly protected, and had strenght in numbers. Link cut the Octocks down like flies, But the Iornuckle's were quick and took many minutes to beat. Link's army had fallen and he was as helpless as the rest. "AAAAAAAAUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Link screamed as he pulled out the Magis Rod. A portal opeaned at Link's mental command and sent Ganon's army into the realm of Hellfire. Ganon retreated into his elaborate castle. Now that the portal was closed Link broke the Magic rod. Now the portal could never again be opeaned. Link had won. Link gathered his army, or what was left of it. "How shall we get out Sir Link?" A young solider asked. "I must confront Ganon and get the Triforce!" Link told him. "I must Go!" A vortex opened and a pixie flew through. In a sparkle of color it turned into Ariel."I thought you had died" Link exclaimed."I teleported out right before the Darkness would have overwhelmed me, but even now I am weakening". Link comanded his remaining troops to go through the portal, and they did what they were told. " Ariel' find me a way to contact Zelda." "I will try my best....." Ariel replied as the portal closed behind her. Link went tothe castle's drawbridge, which fell to his feet. "I will kill you and everything between us!" Link said. Meanwhile, in the Light world, Ariel was searching for the fat faerie, the only sprite who could control the Gem of Eternity. Which will heighten Link's mental power's, letting him converse with Princess Zelda.

Ariel finally finds the fat faerie and quickly speaks, "I need the gem of eternity, it may be the only way to save Zelda and the king." The fat faerie says, "I would gladly give it to you, but the last one who had it was Link's Father, many years ago. I'm afraid the only way to contact Zelda and the King is to first find Link's father." Ariel, a little distraught about the predicament, quickly went to the darkworld. After nearly collapsing, she meets up with Link and tells him what has happened. Link says, "Quickly, go back to the light world and try to find my father!" Ariel leaves and Link continues further into Gannon's castle. It seems like the castle is almost like a death trap, for every corner he turns, a monster of some sort is there to fight him. Luckily, none of the monsters stand a chance against Link.
Tired, and WISHING that the whole problem would be saved, Link continues on his journey to confront Gannon and get the other two pieces of triforce. After making it a good ways into the castle, he sees a large chest. He walks up to it and sees a glowing light coming from it. THE PIECES OF TRIFORCE ARE IN IT. Link tries to open it, but with no success. He knows that he must get the key for it, and figures Gannon must have it.
Finding giant doors, Link figures he has finally gotten to Gannon's throne room. He enters, only to see all the Ironknuckles he has ever fought in a line, between him and Gannon.
Slashing everywhere, surrounded by Ironknuckles, Link seems to be doomed. Suddenly, Link's father dashes into the room, with the magic sword. He powers it up and a large ray of magic INSTANTLY kills all the Ironknuckles. Link says, "FATHER!!! Where have you been?" Link's father says, "It is a long story, but I will tell you later.
Right now, we MUST defeat Gannon....not only does Hyrule depend on it, but the Gods and Goddesses of Hyrule do too. Quickly, AFTER GANNON!"

Link and his father run up to the throne towards Gannon, preparing for the final duel. Gannon holds his ground though and summons all of his evil magic to create a monstorous fire-breathing beast that only just fits into the room. Father and son skid to a halt as the creature spurts a plume of flame and bellows its tremendous cry to the air: KROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAARGH!
Gannon's face turns into an evil grin as the beamoth pounds its way towards the two tiny elves.
Link's father draws his sword and steps forward to do almighty battle. Moving beneath the monster he identifies a weak point between the huge scales of its under-belly. Mustering his strength he grips the hilt tightly and thrusts upwards violently. The creature shrieks in agony, yet does not die; writhing in agony it storms about the room, nearly crushing Link, yet his father comes worse off as he is scraped off against the wall of the throne room. Link rushes over to his injured father, almost being squashed beneath one of the creatures feet.
Link crouches over his father and is horrified by what he sees; his father is dying, horrific wounds are letting free the precious life blood of his sole relation. His father's last energies are given to uttering one final message to him:
"Don't let...Gannon win...Don't...let my...death be..in...vain..."
Tears welling in his eyes, his mind wrestling with the cruel fate of loosing his father after only just finding him, Link rises with a look of pure hatred emanating at Gannon.
Yet the monster still isn't dead. It has recovered slightly from the tremendous wound, and now is approaching Link with a look to provoke fear into the eyes of the bravest. Yet Link is braver than the bravest and faces the tremendous beast. Avoiding the jets of fire and shielding his eyes from the acrid, sulphurous fumes, he waits for the dragon to get closer. Almost on top of Link, the dragon pauses before swinging its head down to crush our brave hero in a death bite.
However Link has timed it well and leaps onto the beast's head. Confused, the creature shakes its head violently to rid itself of the tiny pest. Link holds onto the scales of the beast until it has stopped moving and then draws his sword. Holding it aloft he drives it downwards, peircing the tough scales and skull with its sharp point, the sword has the power to penetrate the dragon's brain and it crashes to the floor with a final death-cry.
Link leaps deftly onto the throne room floor to face his adversary for the final time, yet Gannon has fled to the ante-chamber...

Link runs to the door where ganon disappered but it is locked. Link fumbles in his pockets, looking for a key, but there is none. A burst of flame fills the room and Link draws his sword ready to do battle with the seemingly immoral Dragon. But instead of fiding himself face to face with the fire dragon he see's instead Ariel."Hurry Link!" she calls in a tone that shows she is in great pain. Doudaling over in agony Ariel set the gem of Eternity and the magic key at Link's feet."Took some... work to get them both... had to trick the fat faerie... help... AAAAAAAAUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!" Ariel's limp body fell to the floor.Link dropped to his knees and cradled Ariel's head in his lap."no,NO!" Link screamed as he relized that the Darkness of the World surrounding him had finally over-powered her. Soon Link's anger turned to rage. Picking up the Gem of Eternity and the magic key Link started twords the door. Wiping the tears from his eyes he slipped the key into the lock and flung opean the door. Ganon stood in front of Link in full glory."Ha ha, small elf, I shall destroy you now, just like I did you father!"
"NO!" Link screamed, lunging at Ganon with his sword."Ha, you have no power here!" Ganon roared as he easily defrected Link's blow and countered by throwing Link into the wall. Link sat up painfully, his sword lay in a corner which was blocked by the mighty Ganon, King of Darkness. Link wimpered like a pityful dog... Help me, someone help me, Link thought to himself.

Link began to think quickly. If he could get his sword back, he would at least have a chance of defeating Ganon. Link had an idea. The key was magic. He could see if that would open the chest that consealed the other three triforces. Link backed of. Suddenly, he dashed forward at lightling speed and pushed between Ganon's leg's and turn round to face Ganon. Ganon smiled smugly and thrust his sword downwards. Link timed well and jumped out of the way. "Little brat", muttered Ganon. Link charghed forward in an attack. Ganon jumped out of the way and Link's sword when right into the wall. The wall started to crumble. Link gave a big yank and pulled the sword out. This made matters worse. All this time Ganon was creeping up on him. He let out a scream and ran forward, trying to kill Link once and for all. Link froze. He darted round and ran to the door. Link ran all the way back to the room with the chest." This is it", thought Link, as he fumbled around with the magic key, praying that it would work. " AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH! roared Ganon as he charghed towards Link. Link turned the key. The chest opened. Ganon ran faster and faster towards Link. Link looked inside the chest and found nothing." I with I haden't broke that rod", wished Link to himself. Suddenly he realised what was wrong. It was the wrong chest! Link turned and ran." HAHAHAHAHA!!!"Laughed Ganon. Running away are we?"." I spare you life, Link and don't ever come back again! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!"

Little did Gannon know that Link was not running away from Gannon, but was going further into the castle to find the large chest with the pieces of triforce in it. Gannon continued his search, hall by hall. He sees a chest. It seems like it is almost moving. Link sticks the key in and turns. Out jumps a moblin. Link nearly getting his pants soaked, quickly slashed the sword and the moblin desappeared. Link then continued through the many halls. He soon saw a glowing chest...hopefully the one he is after. Link sticks the key in, and gives it a turn. The pieces of the triforce!! Link takes them and feels a new strength already in him. Because he has the gem of eternity, Link now hears the telepathic message from Zelda: "Link, you must defeat Gannon. Take your father's magical sword and then go defeat Ganon. Link starts to head back to the anti-chamber, encountering many foes, which he defeats easily. Link finally gets there and sees that his father's sword is still there. He picks it up, and then heads into the anti-chamber, only to find the Ganon has left. Where could he have gone?? Link dashes out of the room and through the halls, until he finds another moblin. He then puts the sword right under his chin and demands that the moblin tell him where Ganon has gone. The small moblin, terrified, says, "He...we.nt...to..the land below...the..hell.fir.e....." Seeing the moblin shiver and nearly collapse of just being scared, Link decides to let the Moblin go. He telepathically contacts Zelda, asking for help. "Link, you must go find a portal that will take you there." Link goes on his search, outside that castle, to find a portal that will hopefully take him to the underworld, where he can find and defeat Ganon. Link hear's a telepathic message...this time from the one of the Goddesses of Hyrule. "Link, in the dark world, there is a passage to hellfire from the top of the Eye Temple. You must go there. May the triforce guide you." Link, already in the dark world, heads off to find the Eye Temple. On his way, he sees a merchant, with many goods. Luckily, since Link has killed all those moblins, he has become quite rich. Link asked the merchant what he had. Link decided to buy a set of bombs and a bow with arrows. Link then heads through the thick forest, fighting flying bats and steerig away from thieves. Link finally gets out of the forest, and sees a large temple with an eye at the top, not far away. Link runs to the castle. Exhausted, Link slowly climbs the steps. He walks around the entire castle, but can find no way in. Link decides to use one of his bombs near the eye at the top of the temple. It does no good. Then, Link gets a brilliant idea. Link shoots and arrow into the eye at the top of the temple. A door slowly opens...and inside, there is a portal....to hellfire. Link slowly walks into the room and is just about to step on the portal when an Ironknuckle appears. He rides his! horse and tries to trample over Link. Link barely gets out of the way. Link stands back up, with the magic sword ready. The Ironknuckle charges again, this time Link jumps up and slashes it with the magic sword. The Ironknuckle falls off his horse, and knowing he will be defeated without his horse, quickly flees away. Link steps into the portal.

Entering this new world in front of him, Link is strangely distracted by thougts that had long since left him. The legs of the horse Ironnuckle had been riding on, reminded him of a Zelda. The bones on the knee, the hair, everything. Was it worth it? Would he really risk his life for Zelda, a skirt with legs that would make an ape blush? Still deep in his thought he was surprised by a strange sound. He looked up and was once more aware of the dark red glowing sea in front of him. How could he forget it. This was not because of Zelda. This was because of hunger for power. As long as everone believed him to do good, they would help him, even the Godessess of Hyrule. He grinned and buckled his sword. This should really be fun! Link was at once encountered by two big strange looking creatures. They had square heads bigger than the rest of their bodies and was carrying around a load of really big bombs in a bag. They lit one bomb each and throwed them at him. Link jump out of the way, suddenly furious. What did theese two clowns do here? Not only had they shattered his dream of another perfect series of games, they were also in the completely wrong place. He jumped on the first bomberman hero. He wacked him with his sword. The other bomberman was surprised by the attack, and hesitated. That was all Link needed. He lifted his sword and throwed it, spinning, at the base of the bombermans skull. A fountain of blood sprayed into a nearby lava-pool, a made a hiss while steaming into the air. Link, strong with anger, started to tear the bombermans apart. He could hardly stop. Finally all there was left were two big piles of flesh, blood and other not very nice things. Link continued his journey, now in a good mood. He was once more remembered why he so badly wanted all this power he could gain, if he defeated his last powerful enemy, Ganon. He could then not only kill everyone he wanted, he could also herass them and make them do things they were really ashamed of, and also stumbling over each other doing so. Link was walking in a big room with a high ceiling. The only light came from the lakes of lava lying here and there on the floor. At the end of the room Link saw something strange on the wall. I big text in yellow was spelling: "Buy extra powerful arrows here! Only 100 rupies each. if you buy 10 arrows now, you also get a map to this underworld free! Buy now, don't wait!" Under the sign was a small door. Link went to it and openened. Link entered a much more enlightened room. It was almost empty except for a desk and a Japaneese sitting on it. "Hai!", the man said. "My name is Koji Kondo, how can I help you?" Link was baffled! Was this realy the Kondo he knew of. Yes! The same second Link was sure, he got furious. "Why didn't you add the main theme in 'The Ocarina of time'? Why?" Link was almost crying. His lips were trembling. "Oh!", Koji said. "I'm so sorry! I did not know. How could anyone wan't that song again, everybody has heard it enough now." "No!", Link shouted. "That song is what gets me going. How can I otherwise walk the green grass if I can't hear that song that has always followed me?" "Hmm!", Koji sighed. "Perhaps you're right. But I promise it will be there in the next game: 'Ganon farts at Link'". Koji started to laugh. Link cried now. This could not be the case. And I'm not this evil as I've been here. Everything started to blurr. zzzZZzz... Ahhh! Link was sitting up screaming. Oh! It was all a dream. Puh! Everything was as it should be. The sun shing in from the window. The birds singing. Zelda right beside him in the bed. Zelda? Where was Zelda? Link jumped up from his bed. After stupidly looking under the bed Link afraid run outside to see what had happened.

Link is instantly hot. Fire seems to burn his chin. Hellfire was a place Link never wanted to go to, but yet he went anyways. He was the hero of Hyrule, and this was his destiny. Walking along, he saw Gannon's wake. A very fine layer of destruction was laid along the ground. People were horribly mutulated, heads were dismembered from there bodies, and children cried for their mothers. Hellfire was Link's world, only corrupted by Gannon's magic to use at his own leisure. Link wasen't concerned about his surroundings. His destiny was with Gannon. His fevered state drove him onward, until he could run no more. Exhausted, he collapsed to the ground. "You must get up, Link!" a voice said in his mind. He knew that voice anywere. IT WAS AERIL'S! Don't give up Link! Hyrule will be destroyed if you do not get up. Do you still have my magic, my teardrop, I gave to you? Use your power, Link..." The voice slowly faded away. Link brang himself up, only to have it right! in the face of Gannon's. "Harharharharhar, you still wish to fool with me, do you? The triforce is not even close to my powers. The triforce is nothing. I am absoulute. I was able to kill your father, and I will be able to kill you!" "My father..." Link said, backing off and drawing his sword. "The Master Sword!" Gannon gasped, as it went through one end of his belly and out the other. "HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA! Tastes good!" Shouted Gannon. Link was being pulled into Gannon along with the sword. His only choice was to let go of the sword. Now, he had no more weapons, except one. The stone! But he had no slingshot, and Gannon would surely destroy him at close range. He had to wing it. Taking it into his hand, he raised his arm up high, and threw it at Gannon. It turned into a brilliant fireball, homing in at Gannon. But what? IT STOPPED IN MID AIR! "I said I was powerful. You had a chance, Link. But now, you will be destroyed. Prepare for the afterlife!!!!!! !!!"

Link realizes that his dream had somehow become real. His father REALLY was dead and he REALLY did meet Aerial. He looked back up at the frozen ball of fire, and then saw Gannon start to charge. Then a huge explosion threw Link back a few meters. The ball of fire EXPLODED. Then, Link saw Gannon, on the ground...dead. Link had FINALLY won...wait! Gannon turns to dust and disappears. Is he really gone??? The hellfire then changes almost instantly. Link sees the red hot lava slowly turn into a small river of water. The rough ground then turned into soft grass. The screams for help were stopped and joyous shouting took its place. The decapitated heads SOMEHOW were now connected to their bodies. He had saved the underworld. Then, Link's eyes open VERY WIDE! Link sees three people walking towards him: The king, Zelda, and his FATHER!!!! Link quickly ran to them. Zelda said, "You see, we were trapped down here, and knew that if Gannon had defeated you, he would be able to also take over Hyrule AND the GODS!! This would have caused the utmost terror to all the neighboring countries, and our country would be all evil, with no one to save it. You have saved Hyrule, your father, and ME!" Then, Link's Father starts: "Link, now I must tell you what has happened. You see, when I went out into the forest, A moblin came and attacked me. Without a weapon, I surrendered. I was taken to Gannon, and he transformed me into a small animal, and then sent me back to Hyrule. I tried to talk to someone and tell them what happened, but I could not talk. So, I telepathically called a fairy, who changed me back to normal. But, the fairy said that I could not go back to my home until Gannon was defeated, and that was the cost for being changed back to human. So, I headed out to the forest and tried to get the magic sword, so I could kill Gannon. I had to defeat many goblins and Ironknuckles on the way. Finally, after many years, I was worthy of getting the Master Sword. I went to the magic sword, stuck in the rock. Suddenly, the sword came out and came to me. I then used a portal to get to the Dark World. Then, I found you, and you know the rest." Link, very happy about what happened, went back to Hyrule. There, a parade was going on in the honor of Link. He also saw Ariel in the crowd. Link's Worst Nightmare soon came to be the best time of Link's Life!!!
